 CHAPTER I

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY 

Student enrollment refers to the act of signing up for school and/or specific classes or co-

curricular activities at that particular school. The enrollment process is completed after a student

is granted admission to a particular school. Students can then select courses to take through their

school’s online student information service.

Enrollment Management system combines all activities involved in the entire enrollment

process and integrates them into a system. This way, everything happens in one place, both

online and offline. The conversation happened with the prospects, the pages they are visiting,

their interests and motivations, their personal details, the meetings scheduled with them to name

a few. The overall objective of an enrollment system is to help admission teams ultimately enroll

more students. EMS holds all financial transactions related to a student's registration including

tuition, fees, room, board, health insurance, financial aid and payments. EMS provides detailed

billing of all registration transactions. Billing is provided either on-line or batch. 

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

General Problem

         How to develop a Student Enrollment Management System for Nova Schola Tanauan.

 Specific Problem

1. How to create a module that makes an accurate and easier way of registration for the

students of nova shola tanauan.

2. How to create a module that  provides a user friendly enrollment website in managing

enrollment of old students, new students and transferees.

3. How to create a module the generate reports such as:

a. Student Information

b. Registration Form

 
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

General Objective

To develop a Student Enrollment Management System for Nova Schola Tanauan.

 Specific Problem

1. To create a module that makes an accurate and easier way of registration for the students

of nova shola tanauan.

2. To create a module that  provides a user friendly enrollment website in managing

enrollment of old students, new students and transferees.

3. To create a module the generate reports such as:

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

This study embraces a comprehensive analysis of how we can help schools improve their

current enrollment system. This study focuses on student information and the enrollment system

of the school. This study can help the admin staff effectively save and keep student information

records. This system can be accessible via internet and web systems. This proposed system is

intended for Nova Schola Tanauan only.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This system is intended to improve and to help the school manage various operational

activities performed in different sectors according to the nature of work required.

            This study can help schools find solutions for their current system. It will lessen overall

functioning cost and save time and power. It can help them manage the huge amount of student

data in the registration of new and old students. The data provided are also accurate and secure

because they are using manual operation.

Students. They will be satisfied with the service knowing their records are safe. This will help in

accommodating and other record-related setbacks.

Proponents. This study will help the proponents enhance their ability to create a system that is

easy to understand and versatile. This serves as a challenge to the proponents in designing a

better system. 

Future researchers. They can use this as their reference on their study and should expand the

topic so that users will understand it more.

 CHAPTER II

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

FOREIGN LITERATURE

According to (Bernard, 2015) enrollment management system is indeed a help for school,

but without a comprehensive strategy to manage enrollment, school will find it difficult to

increase productivity, service, quality and competitiveness.

As stated by (Sampson, 2015), accuracy and reliability are fundamental tenets in

computer system design. Programmers can expect that the processor never exposes timing errors,

and networking stacks typically aim to provide reliable transports even on unreliable physical

media. When errors do occasionally happen, we treat them as exceptional outliers, not as part of

the system abstraction. 

FOREIGN STUDIES

According to University of Chicago in 2016,  enrollment system  will provide the needed

and storing information in a faster, more convenient way by storing file of the student enrollees

in a computer system that will lessen the effort of faculty staff in storing files of each student

every now and then

According to the University of Arkansas System in 2016, the idea behind an enrollment

system is not a new concept. As enrollees increase every year, enrollment procedures become

harder to deal. This will only serve to increase the problem facing enrollment that provides a
more easy way of enrolling. It will help their institution to have another system that will upgrade

enrollment processes so as to meet the quality that their institutions are trying to meet.

LOCAL LITERATURE 

According to (Capanzana Rochelle, 2014), In the Philippines, computer software is a

very important task to everyone, it can help companies such as small and big business,

organization, and even other groups that need the help of minimizing jobs or works by

computers. In this manner, computer programmers use their knowledge in making a system that

will make a solution to any possible problems that will be encountered by anyone, not by now

but as soon as technology approaches us, software designers or computer programmers always

think of a better way to solve it. He may build a software system that can monitor the inventories

for instance. Another is the information system, and many possible shortcuts to help humans to

his task easily. 

As stated by (Fontanilla, Mosler M. 2015) enrollment system is able to reduce the time

spent in processing transactions consumed in a manual type of operation. It also minimizes errors

in recording and encoding multiple transactions. 

LOCAL STUDIES

According to (Agustin, 2016) This information here can be viewed in just a second

without worrying that a single file is lost. The idea behind an automated enrollment system is not

a new concept. As student enrollees increase every year, enrollment procedures become harder to
deal. This will only serve to increase the problem facing enrollment that provides a more easy

way of enrolling.

As stated by (Cretecio, 2015) Computerization is a control system that manages

processes in the industrial workplace. It reduces human errors and processing time; thus it can

boost productivity that results in high quality of product. In the information system,

computerization is concerned about interrelating different but interdependent transactions. This

can result in a system with well-integrated processes that can perform much faster and more

education, researchers and theorists have focused intensively in recent years on examining the

concepts and use of information to assist administrators, teachers, students and parents. Schools,

like any other organization used to manage all sorts of data and information to ensure attainment

of its goals and objectives.

OPERATIONAL DEFINITION OF TERMS 

Error- It is an action which is inaccurate or incorrect. An error could result in failure or in a

deviation from the intended performance or behaviour of a system.

Processor- It is an integrated electronic circuit that performs the calculations that run a

computer. 

Programming- It is the process of creating a set of instructions that tell a computer how to

perform a task. Programming can be done using a variety of computer programming languages.

System- It is a set of integrated devices that input, output, process, and store data and

information.
