• Elizabeth I was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.

• Her greatest triumph was when England’s navy defeated the powerful Spanish
Armada in 1588.
• Some important events during her reign were:
⁃ navigator Sir Francis Drake sailed around the world.
⁃ explorer Sir Walter Raleigh colonised land in what’s now North
Carolina in America.
• Elizabeth died on March 24, 1603.
