I. Find three events that you consider the most important
in British history in the 20th and 21st century. Give your reasons. You may need to find some additional information from other sites once you have chosen the events. 1) 1928: women over the age of 21 are given the vote.
2) The Suffragettes fought hard and constantly during
years to achieve equality between men and women. At this point, the journey to this equality started, women were, at last, consider sufficiently intelligent and important to express their opinions through the vote.
3) 1934: Scottish Nationalist Party is formed to
campaign for an independent Scotland.
This event has remained important until nowadays
since this problem is still active. Groups of Scottish still claim independency and even, in 2014, there was a referendum to decided whether Scotland should stay in the UK or not.
