OBJECTIVE
The objective of this Operational Control procedure is to create awareness
‘among DG staff and contractors employees about the effective role of House
Keeping in maintaining an accident free site
SCOPE
This Operational Control Procedure is apy

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Management & supervision of all contractors.
* Contractors In charges / Supervisor will take care of their respective areas
for house keeping
+ Concerned In-charge HSE of contractors will monitor the performance
through audits and will contribute for improvement accordingly in
collaboration with the consent of PM/SM
+ In-charge site HSE of contractors will maintain a regular contact with
counter part to incorporate the customer requirements and priorities if any.

PROCEDURE
5.1 The layout of material Storage Areas, Site Offices, Parking Areas etc., shall
be planned so as to provide safe access at site for pedestrians, vehicles
and equipment.
5.2 Materials will be stored only in designated areas unti itis required for use.
5.3. Small Tools, Fittings, etc., shall be kept in racks, at suitable location in the
warehouse. Timber with protruding nails shall be removed from site to
avoid injuries.
5.4 Color-coded drum containers will be provided for household, glass,
metals, and hazardous wastes. These containers will be emptied daily
5.5 Loose, defective and surplus material shall not be stored within

5.6 Special attention will be given to any trash or debris that could constitute
hazard like fire or slip and trip. Cotton rags soaked with oil can catch fire
at high temperature.
5.7 Waste material willbe disposed of at allocated area according to the rules
and reguiations applicable at project site and according to DG KCC Hub
customer plan.
5.8 Gas hoses with welding sets and electrical cables will be kept away from
main access to facilitate an easy escape during emergency. Extension
cables will travel underground or raised six feet above ground level to
provide clear access to workforce and to prevent from damage.
5.9 A copy of site plan describing clearly the escape routes and assembly
areas and waste storage will be attached for proper follow up.
5.10 Daily housekeeping of twenty minutes and weekly housekeeping of an-
hour at the end of work day before leaving the project site will keep site
clean and tidy.
