This Covid-19 Pandemic has brought about the best and worst among people.

On the early
phase of the worldwide pandemic, people’s greediness and hunger to remain safe and free
from the virus almost lost the spirit of humanity… as those with money, power and privilege
chose to keep the most of the resources for their selves and their families leaving scarce
resources for those who are not privilege to acquire bulks for themselves. Many had to just
keep the faith, not knowing what tomorrow may bring, staying at the comfort of their homes
due to restricted movements to keep themselves free from the deadly virus. Most of Filipinos
were affected as most of them are relying on day-to-day income, merely having meager savings
that can only last from one to two days. Many had suffered and lost their hope, shattering their
plans for the future.

But the pandemic also brought out the best in us… resilience and innovativeness of the Filipinos
came out, looking at the silver lining of the current situation. Many had come up with various
ways to restore their economic-balance by engaging themselves to various income-generating
activities, such as but not limited to, online-selling, selling different kind of foods and items,
delivery services and others. Humanity was also seen as those who are abundantly blessed
chose to share their blessing by giving foods and other necessities to the most-affected
population, the marginalized ones, those who were left with nothing but faith as this pandemic
hampered their daily income.

Not just that, many had also extended their little help to our heroes during this pandemic – our
great front liners. Ranging from medical staffs, policemen, armed forces, bank tellers, social
workers, garbage collectors, and many others. Many people long-drawn-out their help and
support to them by providing them Personal Protective Equipment, foods, and others. And
those simple gestures indeed touched their hearts and motivated them to do better.

This pandemic indeed greatly changed our lives. But as it affected us negatively, it surely also
affected us positively. The fight is not yet over, we still cannot let our guards down... we cannot
relax the barriers we had set as the virus is still around. What we had learned during the must
be kept in our hearts and mind, and the experiences we went through must remind us that we
need to be kind in any situation we are in, as there are still those who more affected than us.
Learn to give and to those in need and extend a helping hand whenever possible.
