and services. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Verizon Communications. Verizon Wireless is
the largest wireless telecommunications provider in the United States.Verizon delivers the
promise of the digital world by enhancing the ability of humans, businesses and society to do
more new and do more good. The company is headquartered in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
Verizon wireless is doing extremely well in the USA market. Therefore, it will not be difficult
for the company to get the necessary capital and resources it needs in order to expand its
business in China.
Communication is one of the most vital tasks of an organization to successfully conduct business
and to survive in the long run. The nature and the size of the business organization dictate the
extent to which the communication should take place. However, the overall communication
process doesn’t occur as smoothly as might be expected, especially when a company is
expanding abroad. There might be a crop up noise in one or some steps of the communication
process. Since the foreign country might communicate in ways unfamiliar to the expanding
company, the possibility of noise might be higher. The encoded message might be different from
the decoded one. With taking in mind the importance of effective business communication,
Verizon Wireless should formulate strategies to help itself communicate as smoothly and
efficiently as possible. Because overseas nations have different languages, customs and
traditions, the entire communication process might have to be redesigned according to that
country. They believe that by celebrating diversity across all spectrums makes them a stronger,
better company.

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
Verizon Communications was created on June 30, 2000 by Bell Atlantic Corp. and GTE Corp.,
in one of the largest mergers in U.S. business history. GTE and Bell Atlantic evolved and grew
through decades of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Today, Verizon is a global technology
company delivering the promise of the digital world to millions of customers every day. As their
customers add more devices and find more ways to use them, they are constantly increasing the
density of their network. Since 2000, they have invested more than $126 billion to meet today’s
surging demand for wireless data and video, and to get their network ready for 5G wireless
technology. Verizon began building and testing 4G LTE in 2008 and commercially launched the
nation’s first 4G LTE network in December 2010.

Why we have chosen China for our Business expansion?

China is quickly transforming into a mass consumer market. Some say it is even going to
overtake the USA. Experts say that the best time to enter into any market is when it is growing.
And China is growing now.Whether it is a service or product related industry, now is the time to
enter china.
Many say that the chinese economy is overheating. But we have to think about it that even if, it
slows down, it will slow down from a 8- 9% growth to a 4%. Even then, a 4% growth in a billion
people country, is a lot.

If it is in a product industry, we have to realise and realise NOW, that the chinese market is
changing from a developed to a consumer market. And it is turning fast. It is normal human
nature that if suddenly you have more money to spend, then you want to spend it in the best. And
what is the best??? Something made in Europe or the USA. That is the mentality in the chinese
new middle and upper class. So we think our company Verizon Wireless can use this opportunity
and enter into Chinese market.
