Introduction

The lecture is about the factors to succeed in startups, in addition, there are some ideas which are
supported or even developed by other ideas in some essays. Those essays are also about a successful
startup. However, there are also some opinions which refute the ideas illustrated in the lecture.

There are some ideas both mentioned in the lecture and some texts. The lecture mainly focused on five
categories to successful startups and also showed some diagrams about the effectiveness of them. For
instance, Timing was the most effective method for companies which was 42%. Similarly, In texts
pointed out about the 3 things for a successful startup, why the lean start-up changes everything and also
about the failures of new businesses.

According to the lecture and essays, there are some differences. The lecture only focused on the biggest
reasons why start-ups succeed, however, there are other significant reasons for them. On the contrary, the
ideas given broader in texts than the lecture. If we compare they, In texts mentioned about the failure rate,
gaining a basic understanding of business, however, Bill Gross based only on his analysis, he has found
that Timing is the key and gave some examples. In addition, in the essays, mentioned that having a great
idea is the first step to startup success, but it can not be the entire foundation and also invest in
establishing a true vision for your business, learning about the market, and proving there’s demand for
your idea. While in the lecture, ideas and funding were lower.

Conclusion

To conclude, there are some common ideas in the lecture and the essays, they support each other in many
ways. However, there are not always the same, they concentrate on different specific topics.
