I decided to take this course this semester because in the past six months I have grown

very interested in criminal studies. I will admit that I may have watched Criminal Minds a little

too much and I wanted to explore the studies behind all of that so as elective credits I decided to

take this! I have no experience whatsoever in this course topic, but I know that what we will

cover throughout this course will be very useful throughout my life, whether I continue studying

the criminal system or anything in the field. This course is more for me to find out what I enjoy

and what I don’t enjoy, I have always been told that college is a good place to explore what you

don’t want to do in life by trying different types of courses whether it’s a new subject to me or

not. I am interested in the course topic, so I decided that college is probably the best place for me

to explore different topics I am interested in. I currently plan on pursuing a freelance

photography career, and I would like to finish my associate degree. I would also like to have a

bachelor’s degree of some sort, but I have not decided what to major in, so I am just trying to

enjoy the classes I am taking to finish my associate’s degree.

In this course I want to learn the basics about criminal justice regarding the courts, laws,

police, etc. and anything else this course has to offer! I believe that this knowledge is good to

know for every citizen and if I choose to advance my studies within criminal justice this course

is a great starting point. The only “fears” I have with online courses is knowing how each
course/professor is going to be but that is a normal thing for in person and online learning. I

personally love online schooling because I get to control the environment that I do my work in

and I get to control how and when I do my work. In high school I always loved when we would

have study/homework time in class because I got to get work done in the way that helped me

learn the most. This is my second semester of fully online school and I have loved it so far; I

look forward to this course and all that I will learn!
