INTRODUCTION
 Polyvinyl Chloride(PVC) piping is the most
widely used plastic piping material.

 PVC pipe is manufactured by extrusion in a

variety of size and dimensions

 PVC pipe is available in both solid wall and

cellular core construction.

 a solid outer layer, a cellular core intermediate

layer, and a solid inner layer.
 Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe is made from a
plastic and vinyl combination material.
 The pipes are durable, hard to damage, and long
lasting
 PVC is a polar polymer with strong
intermolecular forces; therefore it is rigid at
room temperature..
 When a plasticizer is added upon fabrication,
flexible PVC products are obtained.
PVC
 Was first poroduced commercially in the late
1920s

 Made from salt (57%)& oil/gas (43%0)

PVC Pipes
CHARACTERISTICS
 The colour of PVC pipe is white or dark grey.

 PVC is available in both rigid from & flexible

form.

 It is safe to touch and handle.

PROPERTIES
 PVC polymer is chemically stable neutral & non
toxic.
 PVC is major benefit is its compatibility with
many different kind of additives, making it a
highly versatile polymer.

 PVC has excellent electrical insulation

properties, good impact strength & weather
proof attributes.
