Intensification of PNP and AFP Checkpoints

Strengths:

It aims to further intensify the already implemented checkpoint operations as target hardening measure
to protect key cities and urban centers from terrorist activity.

This will build a better relation between the PNP and the AFP

This will serve as a deterrent to crime perpetrators hence decreasing crime rates.

Weaknesses:

Dependency to the personnel conducting, the personnel that conducts the checkpoints should adhere to
general guidelines, the personnel manning checkpoints must be courteous at all times.

It requires sufficient amount of personnel to go on duty. Since checkpoints are usually operating 24/7,
personnel must have time shifts in order for them to properly perform their tasks.

Personnel can be undermanned on a checkpoint. Due to the limited availability of personnel, some
checkpoint will be undermanned, therefore, making the checkpoint less effective.

Recommendations:

Checkpoints must be carefully determined and planned to assure it’s effectivity. The right amount of
personnel must be observe to ensure that they can respond accordingly in case of any untoward
incidents. Personnel should have a proper time shifts for every checkpoints. The personnel conducting
checkpoints must know the general guidelines regarding checkpoints, they also must be in complete
uniform to give the public a good impression.
