1. An introduction to signals and systems
 an integral part of engineering systems in many diverse areas
 basic concepts for continuous-time and discrete-time signals and
systems
2. Linear time-invariant (LTI) systems
 System properties
 Impulse response; Transfer function
3. Signal and system representations in both time and
frequency domains
 Continuous-time signal
 Fourier series, Fourier transform, Laplace transform
4. Validate the theory and techniques learned by conducting
experiments in lab

Course Outcomes
• How to obtain the output of a linear time invariant (LTI)
system
 in time domain
 In frequency domain

• Analyze different properties of LTI systems, e.g. causality,


stability, memoryless or not
• Grasp Fourier and Laplace analysis; apply them to analyze
continuous-time LTI systems.
 Continuous-time Fourier transform
