During my time study in PRIME College, as part of the course, I have learnt Engineering

Drawing which covers the study of AUTOCAD program. The course also covers computer
programming for engineering such as Visual Basic and C++.

In my bachelor degree, the course resolves specifically on the problem solving to the process
simulation and designing a chemical plant. The degree very emphasises on self-motivated study
and weekly group tutorials, at which problems are discussed and solved. Among the modules
covered in the course are Process Design and Simulation, Heat Transfer and Process Integration,
Chemical Thermodynamics, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Process Control, Solid-Fluid
Systems, Distillation and Absorption, Safety, Fine Chemical Production, Catalytic Reaction
Engineering, Process Fluid Dynamics, Sustainable Industry and Development and Mathematical
Methods. I also did laboratory project within a group every year where my project management,
analytical and presentation skills were polished.

In my final year, I was given a task to design the economical Ammonia Synthesis Plant. The
project was divided into three parts; the first and third part had to do in a group. We had to make
sure each of us did our part so each of the design project handed to us is well studied and
completed as a team. The second part was individual project in which the detail design for
particular unit in the plant was designed. I was given to design a Low Temperature Shift reactor.
All the mathematical calculation such as mass, energy and heat balance, kinetic reaction equation
and pressure drop are performed. Once the calculations were done, the optimization and
economical studies were carried out to get the economical and sustainable design. I believe these
projects have given me a taste of success, working as a team as well as an individual and also
improve my interpersonal skills. Working as a team and study in multi-culture environment,
communication skills are very important and I am lucky enough as I have gained and improved
my cross-cultural communication skills.

Apart from study, I have to work part time to support my daily life and it was polished my time
management skills. Even though had tight schedule, I have managed to complete all my works
on time and be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Apart from that, I also learnt how to implement and apply all equation and method that learned
before into a real situation. For example, the application of mass and energy balance in designing
the reactor, safety, process control and sustainable design which is very important to make sure a
better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come.
