Activity 1

“A Deeper Feel of Impressionism”


Answer the following questions after listening to Debussy’s Claire De Lune:
1. How has Dynamics (softness or loudness of musical sound) been useful throughout
the composition?
2. What makes the meter/beat/pulse of Claire De Lune different from that of the Filipino
folk song Leron Leron Sinta?
3. Did you feel the irregular beat/pulse in his music?
What natural activity or movements in nature can you compare it to? Why?

Activity 2

“Make Impressionism Visible”


• On a clean sheet of bond paper or oslo paper (or any available and easy-to-use
material of the same kind), draw/sketch the natural activity/movement in nature that
you compare Claire De Lune to.
• For water colors, use the TIP of the brush to do point-strokes on the paper.
• Do the same thing with the crayons and oil pastels. There must be no clear image but
point strokes from the tips of the brush and crayons/oil pastels.
• You may seek a little assistance from your family members in the sourcing out of
materials or in the art process but be sure that you give your 80-90% effort on this
activity.

Once you are done with the task, show the artwork to your family and let them write
messages or comments at the back of your work. Their names, signatures and the date the
artwork was finished will validate your home task. This will be submitted to your facilitator later
on.
Your Artwork will be graded based on this Criteria:
Relevance to Impressionism – 15 points
Artistry/Creativity– 10 points
25points
