Hematologic /Oncologic

1. Leukemia (ALL)
Does the patient have:

-Unexplained weight loss, fatigue, malaise, and irritability?


-an intermittent, low-grade fever?
-Bone or joint pain, particularly in the lower extremities?
-Bone pain so severe it can wake the patient at night?
-pallor, fatigue, exercise intolerance, bruising, or epistaxis?
-cranial neuropathies, headache, seizures?
-Respiratory distress?

pallor, listlessness, purpuric and petechial skin lesions, or mucous membrane hemorrhage?
lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly, hepatomegaly?
objective evidence of joint swelling and effusion?

2. Lymphoma
B-symptoms presence:
Fever >38, Night sweats, weight loss >10% baseline within 6 mos

Hodgkin

-painless, nontender, firm, rubbery,cervical or supraclavicular lymphadenopathy and usually some degree
of mediastinal involvement

Non-hodgkin

-Peripheral adenopathy, location varies

3. Sickle Cell disease


Does the patient experience pain particully abdomen, bones, joints and soft tissue
Bilateral painful and swollen hands and or feet (dactylitis)?

4. Thalassemia
Does the patient have:
Severe pallor, schleral icterus, enlarged abdomen, growth retardation, short stature, bony deformities?

5. Bone, Cartilage, synovium tumors


Pain in extremities? Limping?

6. Hemophilia
Joint tingling, crackin, warth, pain stifffness, hematemesis, melena, hematuria, epistaxis?
