MID 130 PID 161 Input shaft, rotation speed

General information

Transmission Control Unit (MID 130) inputs for hardware diagnostics, short-circuit or open-circuit respectively, can be
detected. At frequencies < 20 Hz, diagnostics according to FMI 3, 5 and 6 are performed. Most electrical faults give a
frequency of = 0 (that is < 20). Reset takes place as soon as the fault ceases to exist.

Component: (B08A) Sensor, input shaft (turbine speed)

Cable harness: 1494, 1007C

Fault code

FMI 3

Abnormally high voltage or short-circuit to higher voltage.

Conditions for fault code:

Short-circuit to battery voltage in the sensor circuit.

Possible cause:

Short-circuit to battery voltage in the sensor circuit.

Reaction from the control unit:

Fault code is stored.

Yellow light requested.

Noticeable external symptoms:

Yellow light comes on.

Uneven lock-up engagement.

Appropriate check:

40120-3 Turbine/engine rpm, check .

FMI 5

Abnormally low current or open-circuit.

Conditions for fault code:

Open-circuit in the sensor circuit.

Possible cause:

Open-circuit in the sensor circuit.

Reaction from the control unit:

Fault code is stored.

Yellow light requested.

Noticeable external symptoms:

Yellow light comes on.

Uneven lock-up engagement.

Appropriate check:
