Prerequisite

17 Angio attachment

17-1 Prerequisite
- Basic adjustment of all unit movements, particularly 0°-
position for swivel angle, unit position and tube
rotation must have been carried out.

- The tube unit must be centered to the "spotfilm device"

- Presetting of S 1 1 5 / S 1 1 6 (angio attachment, guide rail


spotfilm device) must have been made (installation
instructions R18-042.031.02...)
- Jumper X9.A7-B7 (D60, remote-control console) must be
inserted.
- Connect PT to Z2.K2.

Basic position

17.2 Basic position


- Unit position > 0° or < 0°, as required.
- Layer height approx. middle of adjustment range.
- Optional swivel angle headwards/footwards.
- Longitudinal carriage headwards/footwards, as required.
- SID = 135 or 150.
- Table top optionally headwards/footwards.
- Compression approx. middle of travel range (cone
inserted).
- Press (remote-control console). Watch the unit
reaction.
Requirement: The following adjustments are made
automatically.
* Compression cone into uppermost decompression position
* SID = 115 cm
* flashing

- Press and keep it depressed. Watch the unit


reaction.
Requirement: The following adjustments are made
automatically:

* Unit position 0°
* Swivel angle 0°
* X-ray system in center of angio range
* goes out
- Measure dimension "X" according to drawing.
Requirement: X = 860 mm (+/- 10 m m ) .

17.3 Matching the PUCK carriage to the guide rails

Check the following conditions:


a) The top edge of the guide plates (3) should be
horizontal
b) The distance between the top edge of the guide plate
(3) and the rail (1) on the spotfilm device:
12 mm (+3 mm)

Adjustment a) and b ) :

o By placing washers (included in scope of delivery)


underneath at (X), adjust the pulleys of the PUCK car-
riage, as required.

c) With the PUCK carriage inserted in the guide rail (2)


on the spotfilm device, the guide plate (3) of the
carriage in the rail may have neither lateral play nor
may its movement be sluggish. Measure the required
distance.
Adjustment:
o Unscrew rail (6) at x
o Remove spacing strips at y, as required
o Fasten the rail (6) with screws again.

d) Buffered locking when inserting the PUCK carriage into


the guide rail on the spotfilm device as far as the
stop. No stop of the cam (8) on the unit! Minimum
distance: 2 mm. No play in transverse table position!
When pressing the PUCK carriage lightly against the
buffer (5), the latch (1) must be easy to release (pull
at bracket 4 ) .

Adjustment, play/buffered stop:


o Adjust the buffer (5) as required.
Adjustment, distance 2 mm:
o Loosen guide rail (2) at A. Shift as required.
Note: Final adjustment will follow later.

e) With the PUCK carriage inserted in the guide rail (7)


on the transom, the guide plate (3) of the carriage may
have neither lateral play in the rail nor may its move-
ment be sluggish. Measure the required distance.
Adjustment:
o Unscrew rail (7) at x
o Remove spacing strip at y, as required.
o Fasten rail (7) with screws again.

f) Buffered locking, when inserting the PUCK carriage,


with the changer in frontal position, into the guide
rail on the transom as far as the stop.
No play in cross-direction of table!

The catch (10) must be easy to release (pull at bracket


4) when pressing the PUCK carriage lightly against the
buffer (15).
Adjustment:
o Slacken 2 Allen screws at x
o Adjust buffer (15) as required (oblong holes)
o Tighten Allen screws again.

Note: No locking, when inserting the PUCK carriage with


the changer in lateral position.

g) Dimension "a" must be 168 mm (+2 mm)

Adjustment:
o Unscrew and detach PUCK (only with PUCK carriage "F")
o Extend telescope of PUCK carriage (only with PUCK
carriage "F/L")
o Turn out 4 Allen screws (17); take out the system,
o Turn out 2 Allen screws (16)
o Shift the cam (18) into the position shown
(position "SIREGRAPH D2")
o Reinsert the system and screw it on
o Position the PUCK and screw it on (only with PUCK
carriage "F")

h) Function s115/s1l6/s227/s228
- System "on"
- Press key

- Press key and keep it depressed until it is


extinguished.
The basic position must be established (17.2)

Note: Test the following procedures several times.

S115/S116:

- Insert PUCK carriage into the guide rail on the


spotfilm device until it locks in place.

* Switch s115 / si 16 must be operated reliably


(S/Port 63: 2° bit = s115, 21 bit = s116)
* Layer height moves to minimum

* Key is flashing

* Multifunction display lights up

* The following functions must be blocked:

Adjustment s115/s116:
o Uncouple PUCK carriage from spotfilm device. Pull out.
o Advance the complete set of switches (holding angle
accessible from below) to the guide rail so that the
flat reed of S 1 1 6 rests planely on the rail and just has
not yet operated.
Note: Do not shift switches individually! Varnished
factory adjustment!

S227/S228:
- Uncouple PUCK carriage from spotfilm device. Couple with
the changer in frontal position. Lock down on the head
side transom.

* Switch s227 must be released. s228 must be actuated.


(S/Port 63: 22 bit = s227, 23 bit = s228)
* Layer height moves to maximum ^

* Key lights up.

* Multifunction display lights.

* The following functions must be blocked:

Adjustment s227/s228:
o Uncouple PUCK carriage from transom, pull out.
o Unscrew cap (20)
o Individually adjust switches so (oblong holes) that the
ball-shaped feeler projects 2 mm into the guide slot
(A).

Couple PUCK carriage to the head-side transom, with the


changer in lateral position.

* No locking takes place

* Switch s228 must be released.

* Switch s227 must be actuated reliably

table movement" is blocked.

17.4 Travelling range of longitudinal carriage


17.4.1 Peripheral angiography

- Couple PUCK carriage with the changer in frontal posi-


tion. Lock in place on the spotfilm device (layer height
minimum /Multifunction display lights up /
flashing)
- Move spotfilm device maximally headwards. Measure
dimension "x".
Requirement: x = 1020 mm (- 5 mm)

Adjustment:
S/MEM F535 D3 +1 bit ? + 3 mm EE
head-side

- Cautiously move spotfilm device footwards. S 2 1 4 is


overtravelled. Shut-down must be affected by software,
with x = 700 mm (- 5 mm).

Adjustment:
S/MEM F534 74 + 1 bit = + 3 mm EE

17.4.2 Cerebral angiography


- Move into basic position (17.2)

- Couple PUCK carriage with the changer in frontal


position. Lock in place on the head-end transom (layer
height max. / Multifunction display lights
up/key lights up).
- Press .This results in automatic Centering movement
of longitudinal carriage, swivel angle, telescope, tube
unit rotation. This is of interest only for the lon-
gitudinal carriage.

- Measure dimension "x".


Requirement: x = 1100 mm (- 5 mm)

Adjustment:
S/MEM F532 EA + 1 bit = approx. EE
+ 3 mm headwards
Note: The contents of address F532 must be smaller by 1
bit or, at the most, equal to the contents of
address F52B (max. longitudinal carriage position,
head-end, in normal mode).

Activate longitudinal carriage travel (function )


Requirement: Function must be blocked.

17.5 Centering of central ray relative to the PUCK


Important: Follow the specified sequence!
17.5.1 Cerebral angiography
- With the changer in the frontal position, couple the
PUCK carriage to the transom (head-end) (layer height
moves to max. lights up)
- Press key and watch the response.
Requirement: The following adjustments are made
automatically:
* Longitudinal carriage moves headwards (17.4.2).
* Column swivels approx. 31° to 35° headwards
* Tube rotates into position approx. 25° clockwise
(= 6° horizontal)
» SID _= 150 cm
* Key is extinguished, Multifunction display and
key light up.

- Move table top footwards


- Light localizer (collimator) "On". Collimator leaves
maximally "open"
- Judge position of the projected cross-wire axis
(collimator) relative to the PUCK center axis (input
surface).
Requirement: Congruent (+0.5 cm)

a) Adjustment in longitudinal table direction:


o Change swivel angle and/or tube-unit rotation as
required.

Note: A decrease in contents results in enlargement of


the angle in head-end direction.
The contents of F523 must be smaller than the
contents of F51A (max. swivel angle at head-end
in normal mode), however, the cranio-caudal obli-
que projection angle onto the PUCK input area
should be as large as possible.

Tube-unit rotation

Note: A decrease in contents results in enlargement of

b) Adjustment in cross-direction of table:


o Loosen fastening screws of the changer
o Shift the PUCK on the carriage as required (oblong
holes)
o Fasten PUCK with screws again

Note: Finally fasten changer with screws only in case


of PUCK carriage "F/L".

17.5.2 Peripheral angiography


- Press key .Wait until automatic movements are
completed.

- Uncouple PUCK carriage from transom.

* The longitudinal carriage moves footwards (Center


angio range).
* goes out
- Couple PUCK carriage with the changer in frontal posi-
tion, lock in place on the spotfilm device.
* Layer height moves into position min
* lights up, flashing
- Press key and keep it depressed until the automatic
movements are finished.

* table top moves footwards


* Column swivels approx. 31° to 35° footwards
* Tube unit rotates vertically above the PUCK
and must light up (reference to F524)

- Move table top maximally to head-end.

- Move longitudinal carriage maximally to foot-end.

- Light localizer (collimator) "on". Collimator leaves


fully "open".
- Assess position of projected cross-wire axes (collima-
tor) relative to the PUCK center axes (input a r e a ) .
Requirement: Congruent. Tolerance: ± 0.5 cm. In this
connection, the collimator must be horizontal. Measuring
point: slide-in rails.

a) Adjustment in longitudinal table direction:

o Alternately change swivel angle and tube-unit rota-


tion in coordination.

A decrease in contents results in enlargement of the


angle clockwise.

o Loosen rail (2) at A and shift as required (oblong
holes). Do not shift the changer on the carriage!
o Fasten rail with screws, however, not yet with the
final moment.

- Measure and record dimension "b" until the panels are


fitted.
- Couple the PUCK carriage to the spotfilm device again,
lock in place.
- Measure dimension "C". Requirement: 2 mm (+ 0.5 mm)
Adjustment for PUCK carriage "F":
o Uncouple PUCK carriage, pull out.
o Very exactly mark the position of the changer on the
carriage,
o Unscrew and detach the changer,
o Slacken 4 Allen screws at x, shift the system as
required.
o Tighten countersunk screws again,
o Reinstall the PUCK. Finally fasten with screws as
marked.

o Uncouple PUCK carriage, pull out
o Extend telescope of carriage
o Slacken 4 Allen countersunk screws at x
o Shift the system as required.
o Tighten countersunk screws again.

17.6.1 Cerebral angiography

17.7 PBL system (POCK format)

17.7.1 Cerebral angiography


(PUCK coupled to (head-end) unit transom, frontal position
of changer).
- Activate (red dot must light u p ) .

- Push .The button lights up, when exposure position


has been reached.

- Table top footwards.


- Light localizer (collimator) "on".
- Requirement: The light-field borders must be tangent to
the PUCK input area. Automatic adjustment to max. PUCK
format is made as soon as the centered angio-radiogra-
phic position of the tube unit has been reached. Digital
display on the collimator: 35,0 x 35,0 cm.

- Examine light-field borders on PUCK input area.


Requirement: The light-field borders must be tangent to
the PUCK input area. Automatic adjustment to max. PUCK
format takes place as soon as the centered angio-
radiographic position of the tube unit has been reached.
Digital display on the collimator: 35 x 35 cm.

d) Fluoroscopic position
- Press and keep it depressed until all systems have
adjusted. The key is illuminated.

- Mark central ray (cross-wire center) on table top.

- Press and keep it depressed until table top stops

- Assess stop position of table top.
Requirement: The marking (central ray) must be posi-
tioned again in the central ray. must light up.
Adjustment:

e) Steps
- Press and keep it depressed until all systems
have reached the radiographic position. must
light up.
- Light localizer (collimator) "on".

- Check: The marking on the table top must be


positioned in the central ray (projected cross-hairs)
again.

- Proceeding from this mark, affix 4 additional step


marks at intervals of 25 cm each on the table top in
foot-end direction.

- Select workstation "peripheral angiography"


(generator).

- PUCK control (PCQ) "on". Alternatively, for system


with SEP, SEP "on".
- kV-reducer (PAG) "on".

- Check: The green lamp on the PAG control panel must


light up.

Push H (kV-reducer PAG) and keep it depressed. Watch


the table-top reaction.
Requirement: First step direction head-end. Smooth
start; smooth stop. No overtravel. No swinging back
after stop. Projected cross-wire axis and first step
mark congruent (+/-0.5 cm).

For steps 2 to 4, proceed in the same manner as for step


In each case, assess the stop position of the table top.

Note: To. return the table top into start position, push

Requirement: < 2 s; reference value: 1.7 s

Adjustment:
o Improve braking behavior

17.9 Adaptation, radiation release at SEP


- Check memory location 0438 (SEP!) and if required,
entirely remove the programmed delay time for table-top
start (= new contents 00).
