II Answer the following


1. Read the following questions and find the answers in the newspaper report below. 5 CO3

i) Who is going to be given rewards?

Auto – Rickshaw drivers who take road accident and trauma victims to hospital are going
to be given rewarded.

ii) How much is the reward amount?

An amount of Rs. 2000 is the reward.

iii) How does the government plan to support the auto drivers?

The government plans to give auto drivers life –support training.

iv) What is to be carried out in an auto-rickshaw?

First aid kits are suggested to be carried in an auto – rickshaw.

v) Write your opinions about this passage.

Delhi to reward auto rickshaws helping accident victims

Delhi: In what may become one of the most progressive policies to promote road safety, the Delhi
government will soon give reward of Rs. 2,000 to auto- rickshaw drivers who take road accident
and trauma victims to hospital.

The reason is auto- rickshaws are likely to reach the victims before an ambulance. In fact, after a
police control room van, the auto rickshaw is the fastest to get to the victims, followed by friends or
relatives. Then come ambulances, Delhi Health Minister said. The decision comes after the
supreme court approved guidelines to protect good Samaritans. The government also plans to
give auto drivers life – support training and ask them to carry first aid kits.
