The Role of the Educator

In these videos, I met three early childhood educators, Nickel, Ruth, and
Kimberlea. All of them made me have a better understanding of the role of the educator.

Nickel, Ruth, and Kimberlea, all have excellent educational backgrounds.

Whether they work for their preschool or out of school care or day home, they bring their
knowledge and expertise to their work and influence little people around them. As
educators, they are passionate about early childhood education careers and value
children's development and care about others.

Working with children is not easy. Nickel, Ruth, and Kimberlea have to wear
different hats to take various roles, such as operator, owner, financial manager and
housekeeper. This intense workload brings them a busy schedule and also a lot of joy.
Like the videos showed, these three educators work with children to stimulate and
develop their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth and ensure their security and
well-being.

In these videos, Nickel, Ruth, and Kimberlea tell us that they value the early
childhood educator's role. They recognize their primary responsibility is to develop and
implement child-care programs that support and promote children's physical, cognitive,
emotional and social development. They provide and maintain an environment that
protects the health, security and well-being of children. In their daily schedule, they
observe children and stimulate their potential learning and engage children in activities
by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts. Their other essential role is to
maintain care setting equipment and assist in housekeeping and documentation duties.
Although Nickel, Ruth, and Kimberlea are super busy, they value their educator's role.

During this pandemic, a lot of things are getting changed. Nickel, Ruth, and
Kimberlea all feel challenged emotionally and financially. However, they all have a
positive attitude to face the COVID impact. They are working hard on sanitizing care
settings, teaching children to wash hands, and making small groups for children
activities. They all believe that children deserve good quality care and devote them to
achieve this goal.

As an early childhood education student and a mother of two, I appreciate Nickel,

Ruth, and Kimberlea. They are the exact role models that I want to be. They believe that
as early childhood educators, we lay the foundation for the children's future, and we
deliver support to the families. We are making a difference in the lives of children and
families. We can inspire children to do their best when we do our best. We encourage
our little people to work hard when we work hard. We influence everybody around us to
be happy, positive, creative, and energetic when we are.
Just like Nickel said, early childhood educator is a rewarding job, and we deserve
a hug. And children's development and laugh could brighten our day and the day of
others because I am an early childhood educator.
