Course Structure

Exam
• The exam booking on the web portal, within the
deadline, is mandatory
• Written Exam
– To solve 2 exercises in 2 hours;
– Any exercise is evaluated with a maximum score of 10/10;
– You are only allowed to use a scientific calculator, the steam
Mollier chart, the saturation tables and a formulary (an A4
paper) can be prepared by the students
– Oral Exam
– The oral test can be accessed only provided a minimum score
of 12/30 in the written test.
– The student sits to the oral exam usually the following week of
the written one
– The student knows the evaluation of the written exam at
the beginning of the oral exam. At this stage the student can
argue the evaluation of the written exam
Written exam evaluation
• Less important errors (-0.5/10):
– Calculus
– Wrong table or graphic reading
– Missing/Wrong Units (SI)
• Important errors (-1÷2/10);
– Meaningless results
– Not justified hypothesis
• Very Important errors (-3/10)
– Conceptual errors
– Wrong Hypothesis
