1 Installing the Software
1.1 System Requirements
Hardware

CPU Intel® Intel® 2.2GHz or above;


RAM: 1G or above
Hard disk: 128G or above
Available space in the installation disk: 5GB or above
Recommended resolution: 1280*1024 or above

Compatible operating systems

Windows 8.1 (Professional), 64 bit


Windows 7 (Professional), 64 bit

Account type requirements

Before installing Mindray's Hematology Analyzer Data Management Software (refer as Data
Management Software hereafter), make sure you login your PC with an Administrator account.
Follow below steps to check and modify your account type if necessary:

For Windows 8.1 Professional users:

1. Open the [Control Panel] from the [Apps] panel.

2. Select [User Accounts and Family Safety].

4. Check if you are logging in as an [Administrator].

5. If not, click [Change your account type]. The following screen display.

6. Select your account, make it an [Administrator] and click [Change Account Type].

7. Click [OK], and when the [Logout] confirmation dialog box displays, click [Yes] and log in
the PC again as an Administrator.

For Windows 7 Professional users:

1. Open the [Control Panel] from the [Start] panel.

2. Select [User Accounts and Family Safety].

3. Select [User Accounts].

4. Check if you are logging in as an [Administrator].

5. If not, click [Change your account type]. The following screen display.

6. Select your account, make it an [Administrator] and click [Change Account Type].

7. Click [OK], and when the [Logout] confirmation dialog box displays, click [Yes] and log in
the PC again as an Administrator.

1.2 Install the Data Management Software


1. Copy the Data Management Software installation program to your PC or a USB. The
installation program is originally provided in iso format.
2. When using a Windows 8.1 operating system, right click the installation program, and
click [Mount].

When using a Windows 7 operating system, right click the installation program, and
use decompression software to extract the program to a local disk.

3. Open the installation program folder, double click Setup.exe, and follow the screen
instruction to install the program.
If you are using the Window 8.1 operating system, the following screen will display:

4. When the [Language Setup] dialog box display, select desired language, and click [OK].

5. When below dialog box displays, click [Accept].

6. When below dialog box displays, click [Install].

7. When the [Program Compatibility Assistant] dialog displays, select [Run the program
without getting help], and check [Don’t show this message again] to continue installation.

8. When the Hematology Analyzer Data Management Setup screen displays, click [Next].

9. Specify the installation folder, and click [Next].

10. When the [Installation Confirmation] dialog box displays, click [Next].

11. A progress bar will display. When the installation completes, click [Close] to exit the
installation program.

When the installation completes, display on your desktop.

2 First Time Login
2.1 Create Your Own Account

1. Double click , and the [Login] dialog box display.

2. Enter the initial [User Name] and [Password] (both are 000), and click [Login] to enter the
main screen of the Data Management Software.

3. Click [System (G)]-[U User and Authority Setup] on the top menu of the Data
Management Software main screen.

4. When the [User and Authority Setup] screen displays, click the [New] button.

5. On the [User Information] screen, manage the user information and authority settings.

User Name Enter your [User Name].


You will need to provide [User Name] when you log in the software.

Name Enter your [Name].


The name will appear at the left lower corner on the main screen.

Password/Confirm Enter and confirm your password.


Password
User Type When [Common User] is selected: check [Report Input Group],
[Report Validation Group], [System Setup Group] and [Data
Management Group] as needed. Only the checked authority will be
given to the common user.
When [Administrator] is selected: administrators have full authority
automatically (including [Report Input Group], [Report Validation
Group], [System Setup Group], [Data Management Group]).
User Input Method Select an input method from the pull-down list.

6. Click [Save] to save the settings. The new user appears in the user list.

2.2 Log in Using the New Account


1. Click [System(G)]-[L Logout].

2. When the [Logout] confirmation dialog box displays, click [Yes].

3. When the [Login] screen displays, enter the [User Name] and [Password] of your new
account and log in the Data Management Software.

3 Establishing Communication
with the Analyzer
Before using the Data Management Software, set up the analyzer, PC and Data Management
Software communication settings to ensure proper communication between the software and
the analyzer.

3.1 Communication with BC-5000Vet Analyzer


3.1.1 BC-5000Vet Analyzer Setup

1. Log in the analyzer main screen as an "Administrator", and tap [Menu]-[Setup]-[System


Setup]-[Communication] to enter the communication setup screen.

1. Open the [Control Panel].

2. Click [Network and Internet]- [Network Connections]- [Change Adapter Setting].

3. Double click [Ethernet], the [Ethernet Status] dialog box displays.

5. Select [Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)], and click [Properties].

6. Follow below instruction to set [Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)], and click [OK]
when you complete.

1. Double click to run the [MR Com] program.

2. Click [System(S)]-[P Communication Instrument Management].

3. On the [Communication Instrument Management] dialog box, click [New(A)].

5. Click [OK] to complete the setup and return to the [Communication Instrument
Management] screen. When [Connected] displays on the [Status] column, communication
between the analyzer and the Data Management Software is successfully established.

6. Click [Exit] to exit the [Communication Instrument Management] screen.

7. After setup, click the button to minimize the MR comm. module.

NOTE
 The MR comm. module will run in the background.

3.2 Communication with BC-2800Vet Analyzer


3.2.1 BC-2800Vet Analyzer Setup
1. Log in the analyzer as an "Administrator". On the main screen, select
[Menu]-[Setup]-[Settings]-[Print and comm.] to enter the [Print and comm.] setup screen.

2. Configure the communication setup as below:

1. Double click to run the "MR Com" program.

3. On the [Communication Instrument Management] dialog box, click [New(A)].

4. On the [Communication Parameter Setup] screen, set the communication parameters.

5. Click [OK] to complete the setup and return to the [Communication Instrument
Management] screen. When [Serial port opened] displays on the [Status] column,
communication between the analyzer and the Data Management Software is successfully
established.

6. Click [Exit] to exit the [Communication Instrument Management] screen.

7. After setup, click the button to minimize the MR comm. Module.

NOTE
 The MR comm. module will run in the background.

4 Operating Your Analyzer
4.1 Login

1. Double click the icon to start the Data Management Software. The login
screen displays.

2. Enter your [User Name] and [Password] and click [Login] to login the system and enter
the [Test] screen. (Initial [User Name] and [Password] are both “000”).

 You can also enter the [Test] screen by clicking [Daily Operation (E)]-[R Test], or

click the button on the toolbar directly.

Click the button or press F12 to save current sample information

Click the button or press F3 to add a new sample

4.2 Transmit Test Data


4.2.1 BC-5000Vet

1. On the BC-5000Vet, tap to enter the [Table Review] screen.

2. Select the samples whose data you want to transmit to the Data Management Software,
tap [Comm] and select to transmit [Selected] records to the Data Management Software.

4.2.2 BC-2800Vet
1. On the BC-2800Vet, press [Menu]-[Review] to enter the [Review] screen.

2. Press the [↓] key to switch to the [Table] review screen.

3. Press [F2] to select the samples whose data you want to transmit to the Data
Management Software, press [F3] to transmit [Selected] records; or press [F3] and
transmit [All] records to the Data Management Software.

4.3 Enter Sample Information


4.3.1 Pre-entry of Sample Information
This function allows you to enter sample information in batch before running the samples. The
software will automatically match the entered sample information to the sample record with the
same Sample ID saved on the analyzer.

1. Click to add a new sample.


2. Enter the new sample information in the sample information area.

Sample ID Enter the sample ID

Species Cannot be edited

Patient ID Enter the patient ID

Patient Enter the name of the animal

Gender Enter the gender or select from the pull down list

Birthday Select the birth date from the pull down list. Press [Delete] to
erase the entry.
Age Enter the age

Ref. Group Cannot be edited

Owner Name Enter the owner name

Dept. Enter the department information or select from the pull down
list
Deliverer Enter the deliverer information or select from the pull down list

Draw Time Select the draw time from the pull down list. Press [Delete] to
erase the entry.
Delivery Select the delivery time from the pull down list. Press [Delete]
to erase the entry.
Tester Enter the tester name

Validater Cannot be edited

Veterinarian Enter the veterinarian name

Diagnosis Enter the clinical diagnosis

Comment Enter necessary comments

NOTE
 The entered [Sample ID] must be the same with that enter on the analyzer.

 When adding a new sample, the [Species], [Ref. Group] and [Validater] information
cannot be edited.

3. Click [Save] to save the new sample when you complete.

4.4 Edit Current Sample Information


This function allows you to edit the information of tested samples.
1. Select a tested sample and make necessary changes to the sample information in the
sample information area.

2. Click [Save] to save the changes when you complete.

Sample ID Entering the sample ID

Species Cannot be edited

Patient ID Enter the patient ID

Patient Enter the name of the animal

Gender Enter the gender or select from the pull down list

Date of birth Select the birth date from the pull down list. Press [Delete] to
erase the entry.
Age Enter the age

Ref. Group Select a reference group from the pull down list

Owner Name Enter the owner name

Department Enter the deliverer information or select from the pull down list

Deliverer Enter the deliverer information or select from the pull down list

Draw Time Select the draw time from the pull down list. Press [Delete] to
erase the entry.
Delivery Select the delivery time from the pull down list. Press [Delete]
to erase the entry.

Tester Enter the tester name

Validater Cannot be edited

Veterinarian Enter the veterinarian name

Clinical diagnosis Enter the clinical diagnosis

NOTE
 When editing the tested sample information, you cannot edit [Species] and
[Validater].

4.5 Review Test Results


The sample result area shows the test results of current selected sample.

4.6 Auxiliary Functions


The auxiliary function area provides functions of [Sample List], [Graph], [Call Template] and
[Re-collect Result].

Sample List

Tested samples on the specified date are displayed in the Sample List area.

 Double click to select a sample to check its sample information and test results.
 When a sample has been validated or printed, a checked mark will display on its [Validate]
or [Print] field.

Graph

The histograms of the current samples are displayed.

Call Template

Double click to select and apply the desired template.

Re-collect Results

The [Re-collect Result] area displays intraday repeated results.


 Select a record to review the test results.

 Right click the desired record and click [Match]. The matched record can be validated,
printed or previewed.
 Right click the record and click [Delete] to delete it.

4.7 Report Search

1. Click the button to enter the [Report Search] screen.

2. You can search for desired sample reports by defining [Date], [Test Group], [Instrument],
[Sample ID], [Patient ID] and [Patient].

3. Click the button, all sample meeting the search conditions display in the list.

4. Select a sample and click the [Result] or [Graph] tab on the right part of the screen to
review its test results and histograms.

Click to print the test results of the selected sample.

Click [Help(H)]-[C Content]/[A About] to check the help and software version information of the
Data Management Software.

5.1 QC Data Transmission
5.1.1 Transmit QC Data from BC-5000Vet

1. On the BC-5000Vet, tap to enter the QC screen and select from the pull down
list the QC file in which the data you want to transmit.

2. Click [QC Table]-[Comm.] to transmit the QC data in the table to the Data Management
Software.

5.1.2 Transmit Data from BC-2800Vet


1. On the BC-2800Vet, press [Menu]-[Quality control]-[Controls] to enter the QC screen.

2. Press [F1] to switch to the QC file in which the data you want to transmit.

3. Select the QC file and press [F5] to enter the QC table screen.

4. On the [QC Table] screen, click [F1] to transmit all QC data in the QC table to the Data
Management Software.

5.1.3 Receive Data on the Data Management Software


1. On the main screen of Data Management Software, click [QC(J)]-[L QC Table] to enter
the QC table screen.

5.2 Review QC Data on the Data Management


Software
5.2.1 QC Table
1. On the main screen of Data Management Software, click [QC(J)]-[L QC Table] to enter
the QC table screen.

2. Click [Select File], and the received QC files display in the [QC File Selection] dialog box.

3. Select the QC file you want to review and click [OK]. The QC data saved in the QC file will
display on the screen.

Edit Click to select a QC record, and click [Edit] to make changes to it.

Save Click [Save] to save the changed QC record.

Print Click to print the QC table results

Preview Click to preview the printed QC table results

Export Click to export selected records

 Select to [Export All] records, or export the records in a specified


time range.

Adjust Items' Order Click [Adjust Items' Order] to adjust the displayed parameters and their
display order.

 Select a parameter, click to move it up, and click to

move it down.

Exit Click to exit the QC table screen.

5.2.2 QC Graph
1. On the main screen of Data Management Software, click [QC(J)]-[G Multi-parameter
Graph] to enter the QC graph screen.

2. Enter information for [Instrument], [File No.] and [Lot No.], the QC graphs of the records
meeting entered conditions will display.

Save Enter a comment for an outlier and click [Save] to save your comment

Print Click to print the QC graph


Preview Click to preview the printed QC graph

Adjust Items' Order Click [Adjust Items' Order] to adjust the displayed parameters and
their display order.

Management Software
6.1 Basic Data Setup
6.1.1 Set up Item Template
On the [Item Template] screen, you can add, delete or modify templates, and set up default
templates for displaying test results.

Customize Existing Template

1. Click [Basic Data Setup (D)]-[M Item Template] to enter the [Item Template] screen.

2. Select a BC-5000Vet or BC-2800Vet template.

3. Click [Composition] to enter the [Template Sub-item Setup] screen.

4. In the [Existed Item] column, select an item, and click or to move it up/down.

Select items in the [Add] column and click to add them to the [Existed Item], so the
added items will display on the template.

Select items in the [Existed Item] column and click to remove them from the
template.

5. After setup, click [Save] to return to the [Item Template] screen.

6. Click [Exit] to exit the template setup.

Add a New Template

1. Click [Basic Data Setup (D)]-[M Item Template] to enter the [Item Template] screen.

2. Click [New] on the [Item Template] screen.

3. Select [BC-5000Vet] or [BC-2800Vet] from the [Test Group] pull down list, and enter the
name for the new template.

For below example, [BC-5000Vet] is selected for the test group, and the new template is
named as BC-5000Vet-1.

4. Click [Save], and the new template display in the template list.

5. Click to select the new template and click [Composition].

6. Select items in the [Add] column and click to add them to the [Existed Item], so the
added items will display on the template.

In the [Existed Item] column, select an item, and click or to move it up/down.

7. After setup, click [Save] to return to the [Item Template] screen.

Delete Self-established Templates

1. Click [Basic Data Setup (D)]-[M Item Template] to enter the [Item Template] screen.

2. Click to select a template and click [Delete] to delete it.

3. When the confirmation dialog box displays, click [Yes].

NOTE
 The system reserved templates cannot be deleted.

Set the Default Template

1. Click [Basic Data Setup (D)]-[M Item Template] to enter the [Item Template] screen.

2. Check the [Default Template] field of a template to make it the default template.

3. Click [Exit] to complete the setup. The results transmitted to the Data Management
Software from the analyzer will display on the [Test] screen with the same parameters and
in the same parameter order as you set on the default template.

 For each of BC-5000Vet and BC-2800Vet, only one default template can be set.

6.1.2 Set up Departments

Software.

Interface Layout Setup

You can define your own [Simple], [Normal] and [Complete] layouts by selecting or
de-selecting the fields.

Test Result Area Setup

The selected items in the [Test Result Area Setup] area will display in the [Test Result] area on
the [Test] screen.

When [Print Optional] is selected for a parameter, the parameter result will be reported in the
printed report; when it is not checked, the corresponding parameter result will not be in the
printed report.

Font Setup

Set to use small, medial or large font size on the software interface.

Layout Setup

Define the positions of the [Information] area, [Test Result Area] and [Auxiliary] area on the
[Test] screen.

6.2.3 Set up Result Prompt

Copies Set up how many copies will be printed when you click [Print] on the
[Test] screen

Printer Setup Set up a default printer

Preview Select a print template and click [Preview] to preview the print

6.2.5 System Log


1. Click [System (G)]-[D System Log] to enter the [System Log] screen and check user
operation logs.

2. Enter the [Date] range and click [Search]/[Export] to search or export the logs in defined
time range.

1. Click [System (G)]-[G Modification Record] to enter the [Modification Record] screen to
check the records of edited parameter results.

2. Enter the [Date] range and click [Search]/[Export] to search or export the records of edited

6.2.7 User and Authority Setup


You can add, delete or modify User ID, Name, password and Access Level on this screen.
While common users may only change their own passwords; administrators may
add/modify/delete the information of other users.

Add User (Administrator)

1. Click [System(G)]-[U User and Authority Setup] on the top menu of the Data Management
Software main screen.

2. When the [User and Authority Setup] screen displays, click the [New] button.

3. On the [User Information] screen, manage the user information and authority settings.

User Name Enter your [User Name].


You will need to provide [User Name] when you log in the software.

Name Enter your [Name].


The name will appear at the left lower corner on the main screen.

Password Enter and confirm your password.

4. Click [Save] to save the settings. The new user appears in the user list.

Edit User Information and Authority (Administrator)

Users at administrator's level may edit user information and authority.


Select a user and click [Edit] to modify user information and authority settings.

Delete User (Administrator)

Select a user and click [Delete] to delete a user.

Exit (Administrator)

Click [Exit] to exit the [User and Authority Setup] screen.

Click [Window (W)] to reset the window display method.
