This was a question in many people mind for many centuries and still, none have a
good conclusion yet. Spoiler Alert! Science also accepts the existence of Ghost.
Ghost can be coined as a suspicious and superstitious thing they are a spirit of one
person which we can see after their death, this is what all film industries out there are trying
hard to explain us. Also, they will come to torture and scare the innocent people, but this type
of ghost is beyond the science itself instead science accepts the ghost of stars like the sun. To
understand that type of ghost in the universe we need some glimpse of the property of light
in the Grand Universe.
Light is the craziest thing in the universe. To be honest the many properties of the Light
is still under study. The light is the fastest object in the universe and nothing can travel beyond
the speed of light, if something can travel beyond the speed of light Einstein's theory of
relativity will be failed. The fact is there is much experimental evidence to support the theory
of relativity. As for now the light the fastest thing in the universe.
Speed of light = 29,97,92,458 meter per second
On seeing this you may feel it is not a big deal to travel in the speed of light but it is an
enormous speed. World's Fastest Fighter Jet X-15 can reach a maximum speed of 2,000
meter per second which is not even close to the speed of light. What is the distance light
travels in the space for one whole year? the answer is a mind-blowing think; approximately
9,45,42,54,96,00,00,000 meters in a one complete year which is known as Light Year.
Distance travelled by the light in one complete year is known as Light Year. Now it is little
hard to picture these values of speed and distance stuff, let's dive in some simple ways. The
Spacecraft Apollo 11 which crewed humans to the moon took 4 days to reach the surface of
Moon but a light ray from the earth takes only 1.3 seconds to reach the surface of the moon.
Also, a light from the sun's photosphere takes 8 minutes to reach the surface of the earth.
The things what we see through our eyes in the physical world is with the help of the
light particles called photons. Imagine photons as tiny balls which will shower from a light

bulb and there is a book in your room. If the bulb is off you can't see either the book or
anything in the room because there are no photons; once you turn on the bulb, tiny particles
of photons come from the bulb and falls on the book which then bounces back to your eyes so
you can see the book in your room. This what happening all over the world, the light you see
from the sun has started its journey 8 minutes ahead from the sun surface i.e. the photon from
the sun should travel for 8 minutes to reach our eyes.
It a wonderful view to watch stars at night. We all know that the star which we see in
night-sky are very big similar to our sun but they are too far from the earth, so they are like a
small dot to our eyes. Too far means the light we see from that stars must be started many
years ahead of itself. Alpha Centauri A is the nearest star from the earth, which is at the
distance of 4.24 Light year. The light which we see from that star must be started 4.24 years
ahead, and it can also be explained as the light which we see from that star now in 2020 must
roughly be left the surface of the Alpha Centauri A in 2016. The neighbour Galaxy to the
Milky-Way Galaxy is called as Andromeda Galaxy. The Andromeda Galaxy is 2.5 million
Light years away from us, So what we see today through our telescope are the light which
started before 2.5 million years from that galaxy. It's a wonderful thing if some living thing
similar to Human Being in the Andromeda Galaxy watch our earth they can see only
Dinosaurs because they see a light which left the earth 2.5 million years ago. This how we see
the past in the space.
So how this can we related to proving the existence of Ghost?. This question of the
ghost was first asked by a young boy whose father was Sir William Herschel, a renowned
Astronomer of the 1800s. The small boy asked his father out of fear "Is Ghost true?" And his
answer to his son was "The ghost is Real". As in the definition of the Ghost was mentioned
above, it is a spirit of something after its death. When you look in the sky we can see a large
number of stars which are in the various distance, some stars are billions of light-years away
from us. Which means we see light from that star must be started from the respective star
before billions of years. In our Universe, many stars die and eventually many stars born
regularly, so some star's light which we see now in the sky must be dead many years back.
Those starlights are like a ghost to us, just light but the body(Star) is dead long back.
This is a wonderful thing of the light and hence Light year is used in Astronomy in
various measurement like distant between two-star, the distance between two planets. Many
people still out there are thinking that Light year is the unit of time because of the word 'year'
but a light-year is a unit of distance This term light-year is used to avoid a huge numerical

value but in this grand universe this light years also will be not easy to use because the
universe is too big. Again there are some other units which are derived from the unit Light
year for some higher distance.
• Parsec (3.26 light year)
• Mega-Parsec
Also, there are some other units out there is used in astronomy like AU(Astronomical
Unit), which is the distance between the Sun and the Earth.
At least science can prove the existence of Ghost but not the Ghost what you except or
see in Film. One thing is clear the universe very big and huge to be measure and we are a
very very small part of it.
