Use the power adapter packed within the device package. Pay attention to the power load of the outlet or prolonged lines. An ‘overburden power outlet or damaged lines and plugs may cause electric shock or fire accident. Check the power cords regularly. If you find any damage, replace it at once. Proper space left for heat radiation is necessary to avoid any damage caused by overheating to the device. The long and thin holes on the Access Point are designed for heat radiation to make sure the device works normally. Don't cover these heat radiant holes. Do not put this device close to a place where a heat source exits or high temperature occurs. Avoid the device from direct sunshine. Do not put this device close to a place where is over damp or watery. Do not spill any fluid on this device. Do not connect this device to any PC or electronic product, unless our customer engineer or your broadband provider instructs you to do this, because any wrong connection may cause any power or fire risk. Do not place this device on an unstable surface or support. Introduction The ADSL access device supports multiple line modes. It provides four 10/100Base-T Ethernet interfaces at the user end. Utilizing the high-speed ADSL2+ connection, the device provides users with broadband connectivity to the Internet or the Intranet for high-end users like net bars and office users. It provides a downlink speed up to 24 Mbit/s and an uplink speed up to 1 Mbit/s. The device supports WLAN access, as WLAN AP or WLAN router, to internet. It is compliance with IEEE 802.11,802.11b/g/n specifications and complies with WEP, WPA and WPA2 security specifications. Step1 Connect the ADSL interface of the device and the Modem interface of the splitter through a telephone cable. Connect the phone to the Phone interface of the splitter through a cable. Connect the incoming line to the Line interface of the splitter. The splitter has three interfaces: Line: Connect to a wall phone jack (RJ-11 jack). Modem: Connect to the ADSL jack of the device. @ Phone: Connect to a telephone set. Step 2 Connect the LAN interface of the device to the network card of the PC through an Ethernet cable (MDI/MDIX). DD Note: Use twisted-pair cables to connect with the hub or switch. Step 3 Plug one end of the power adapter to the wall outlet and connect the other end to the Power interface of the device. The following figure shows the application diagram for the connection of the router, PC, splitter and the telephone sets. WLAN/WPS | Press the button and hold it for at least 3 seconds, to initialize WPS negotiation. ADSL RJ-11 interface, for connecting to the ADSL interface or a splitter through a telephone cable. LAN1 1273/4 | RU-48 interface, for connecting to the Ethernet interface of a computer or the Ethenet devices through an Ethernet cable. Power Power interface, for connecting to the power adapter i): Power switch, power on or power off the device. Reset to the factory default configuration. Keep the device Reset powered on, and insert a needle into the hole for 3 seconds, then release it. The deivce is reset to the factory default configuration. SpeedSurf 504AN_Quick Installation Guide 4 Web Configuration 4.1 Configuring IP Address of the Network Card Configure TCP/IP properties of your network card to Obtain an IP address automatically, or set the IP address of the computer with the same network mask of the router. When you set TCP/IP properties of your network card to Obtain an IP address automatically, the IP address obtained by DHCP is 192.168.1.x (x is from 2 to 33). The default IP address of the router is 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0, you can set the IP address of the computer to 192.168.1.x/255.255.255.0. The range for x is from 2 to 253. 4.2 Access the Router The following is the detailed description of accesing the router for the first time. Step 1 Open the Internet Explorer (IE) browser and enter http:/192.168.1.1. Step 2 _ In the Login page that is displayed, enter the username and password. The username and password of the common user are admin and 1234. The submenus of the Status contains: System, LAN, WLAN, WAN, Port Mapping, Statistics and ARP Table. Choose the proper navigation to view the corresponding status information. 4.4 Network a Note: In the Web configuration page, you can click Apply Changes to save the settings temporarily. If you want to save the settings of this page permanently, click save of Attention that appears at the left pane of the Web page after the configuration. 4.4.1.1 WLAN Basic Settings Choose WLAN > Basic Setting and the following page appears. In this page, you can configure the parameters for wireless LAN clients that may connect to the router. You can choose from drop-down list. Band Choose the network model of the modem, which Mode is varied according to the software. By default, the network model of the router is AP. Wireless stations associating to the router must have the same SSID. Enter a descriptive name that is used when the wireless client connecting to the modem. Channel Width Ifyou select 2.4 GHz(N), 2.4 GHz(G+N), or 2.4 GHz(B+G+N) as the band, this field appears. Then you can choose it.from drop-down list. 20/40MHZ Control Sideband Ifyou select 2.4 GHz(N), 2.4 GHz(G+N), or 2.4 GHz(B+G+N) as the band, this field appears. Then you can select Lower or Upper as the value of sideband. Channel Number Achannel is the radio frequency used by wireless devices. You may have a choice of channels (for your region) and you should use a different channel from an adjacent AP to reduce the interference. Interference and degrading performance occurs when radio signal from different APs overlap. Choose a channel from the drop-down list box. Radio Power You can choose the transmission power of the radio signal. The default one is 100%. It is recommended to choose the default value 100%. Show Active Clients Click it to view the information of the wireless clients that are connected to the router. Apply Changes Click it to apply the settings temporarily. If you want to save the settings of this page permanently, click Save in the left pane. If the encrypton is set to WEP, the router uses 802.1 X authentication, which is Radius authentication. You can select 64-bit or 128-bit as the encryption key, and ASCII or Hex as the format of input value.
