“F and E’s”

“Equality and equity”, there is a big difference between the two. E’s Filipinos’ hunger for
equality but what we need is equity. We have different sets of needs diverse to what equality will
give. Equity will give you the proper sacks of rice based on the number of your family members.
We pay tax to the government, but do the whole country receives benefit from it? Or is it just in
Manila, NCR?

The current administration is proposing federalism as a solution to our problem. But

citizens are calling this, a trash, especially those who just want to ride the tides. Social Media is
one of the medium to spread fake news.

What is Federalism? It is a system to divide a government into two parts, provincial and
the central government. The prices and tax would be different in each province. This is the equity
side of federalism. In this way, we could see those who put the people’s money to their pockets
and those who make a good use of the tax given to them to develop it the best way.

I think the reason why many citizens disapprove is that they are afraid of change or that
many corrupt politicians will rise. What do you think? Is federalism may help solve our
country’s problem, poverty? Do you want equality or equity?
