Some macrofungi specimens were collected from different localities in Babada District (Denizli)
between 2005 – 2006 particularly during the months of autumn and spring seasons. As a result of the
field and laboratory studies, totally 125 taxa belonging to 70 genera, 40 families and 2 classes have
been identified. 19 taxa belong to Ascomycetes, 106 taxa belong to Basidiomycetes classes.

Key words: Fungal diversity, taxonomy, macrofungi, Babada , Denizli, Turkey.

Lignicolous macrofungi consist of 27 (21.6%) species in
the area. Some live as parasites on live trees and cause
organic product loss and structural damage to the host
trees. Armillaria, Fomes, Ganoderma, Stereum,
Phellinus, and Mycena species are particularly important
as parasitic species.
With this study of the macrofungi flora of Babada , we
have added macrofungi species to the Turkish mycoflora.
