13. Define the free body diagram .Illustrate FBD with sketch.Two identical rollers each of weight 100N rest on an
inclined plane which makes an angle 600with the vertical wall. Find the reactions at all points of contact
supports assuming all surfaces to be smooth.

14. State and Prove Perpendicular axis theorem. Determine by direct integration the centroid of the
shaded as shown in fig.

15. In a game of pool, ball A is moving with velocity 4.57 m/s when it strikes ball B and C which are at rest
as shown. Knowing that after the collision the three balls move in the direction indicated and assuming
frictionless surface and perfect elastic impart. Determine magnitude of the velocity VA, VB, VC.

17. a. What are the equations of equilibrium? Describe it. A concrete foundation mat of 5 m 8
radius supports four equally spaced columns, each of which is loaded 3.5 m from the
centre of the mat. Determine the magnitude and the point of application of the resultant
of the four loads.

b. Each of the pulleys shown has a mass moment of inertia of 20 kg m2 and is initially at
rest. The outside radius is 0.4 m and the inner radius is 0.2 m. Determine

i. the angular acceleration of each pulley,
ii. The angular velocity of each pulley after point A on the cord has moved 3 m.

18. a. What is Angle of Repose and angle of friction? The two blocks shown start from rest. 9
The pulley is frictionless and the pulley is assumed to be negligible mass. Determine the
acceleration of each block and the tension in each cord. Take µk coefficient of friction is
0.24

b. State and Prove D’ Alemberts principle and Derive the Radial and transverse components of
velocity and acceleration of curvilinear motions.
