 Solar altitude angle (γ) : vertical angle at the point of observation between the horizon

plane and the line connecting the sun with observer. (Koenigsberger, et al., 2001)
 Solar azimuth angle (α): the angle at the point of observation measured on the
horizontal plane between the northerly direction and the point on the horizon circle
where it is intersected by an arch of vertical circle, going through the zenith and the
sun’s position (Koenigsberger, et al., 2001)

7.4.Solar position calculation for Biratnagar by using solar chart

The sun angle in summer and winter is calculated using solar chat. The position of the
sun is calculated on three hours during morning at 7am, during afternoon 2pm and
evening at 5pm. The results are then matched with the pre stated information found in
different website. The results are almost same with few degree errors which is common.
According to the calculation we get following solar chart for Biratnagar.
