Proposed system - Objectives of the new system

Current parking system method used in UiTM Puncak Alam caused many issues towards staff,
lecturer and student as well. It will be chaos every morning when staff, lecturer and student want
to park their cars, they will need to be checked by Polis Bantuan UiTM. The current practice
disturbing schedule for them who came from far from campus to go to the work or class. For
instance, technically, after 10.00 am, student basically freely parking to the lecturer parking area.
This will be difficult to lecturers if they will not get the parking near the lecturer’s building.

The objective of this new UiTM Smart Parking System is to develop a new parking method that
able to replace the previous system. The system will have the following function:

a) To make parking digitalize.


 With new UiTM Smart Parking System, all the lecturer and student detail will use their
smartphone that will generate the bar code for RFID reading.

b) To minimize time wasted.

 Staff, lecturers and students to park to their own parking area by just scan and park.

c) To verify the person who are using parking inside UiTM.

 Only registered car can enter the parking area.

Scope of the new system

The scope of this project is to change the conventional methods to automate parking inside UiTM
Puncak Alam. This system will be governed by the instructor and thus covers only staff, lecturer
and student study within Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam. The gate only can be
opened each time they scan bar code generated by system to the RFID reader. For the instructor,
he gets all the access that is login, user details, and parking report meanwhile for staff and
student, they just can login, register into the apps to generate the bar code, and park their car
after verified as staff or student. This project has dual purpose, for both staff and student
identification and parking record.

Scopes of work are:

1. The parking system contains:


 Full name of staff and student.
 The Metric Number of the staff and student.
 The department or faculty of the staff and student.
 The brand of the car registered
 The colour of the car registered.

2. Staff and student must register to the system to verify identity first if match with the server
of UiTM. To check whether person who parking into parking area are staff or student of
UiTM. If failed to comply with the server, they cannot proceed to parking area.

System Benefits/Significant of the project

a) Only registered student or lecturer will be able to park.


 With new UiTM Smart Parking System, all the lecturer and student detail will be
registered to park in the parking area with details of their full name, brand of car, and
contact number.

b) To reduce time for all people.

 By using this UiTM Smart Parking System we can reduce time for Polis Bantuan, staff,
lecturers and students to park to their own parking area without screening at the
entrance of campus.

c) Only valid car will do.

 Only registered car can enter the parking area.


Process or flow of data in the new system

System Design and Implementation

This section will explain about development of the UiTM Smart Parking system. The interface of
the application is shown in Figure is the login page of the system.

Before user log in into their profile, they need to choose their category first. Then, they will
proceed to log in page.
Figure below shows, log in page for staff and student. Enter Staff id and student id, then click
log in.

If log in process failed, they need to register manually at Polis Bantuan Office.

After logging in, user will need to enter their information details. Then, click submit.
After submit, figure below will appear if they successfully registered. Then, click to Generate bar
code now! to show bar code created by system automatically.

When click to generate bar code, figure below will appear. Click scan and they need to scan
screen of their smartphone to the RFID reader.
After click Scan button, this figure will appear. Then, the gate will be opened.
