NARRATIVE REPORT

Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic the faculty and staff of our school
Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College – Vitali External Program Delivering Unit (ZCSPC-
VEPDU) still find its way to provide us quality tertiary education where it help us become a
productive citizen one day. While doing the activity, I faced hardship and difficulties not
because its pandemic alone but also the sudden change of lifestyle I have most specially in
finding means and ways to support both my studies and family because I am a mother of
one.

In module 1, I started making it last October 10, 2020 around 11pm to 1am
since this is the most available time I have every day. In the said module it gives me an
understanding about the differences of the term GENDER and SEX which I believed before
that they are synonymous. The term sex alone refers to one that is literally true, an
emphasis on our biological gender that identifies our human self while the term GENDER
refers to our SOCIALLY CONSTRUCTED ROLE in the community we belong regardless if its
small or complex type of community. Upon knowing these terms, I can also give difference
of the term GENDER EQUALITY and GENDER EQUITY. The term Equality refers to the equal
enjoyment and rights a particular gender can have like for example, the use of toy gun is
not for men only but can be used by women, on the otherhand, the term Equity refers to
the fairness and just of an individual set of work, the most common example is, Military that
serves the country for protection is not only available for men but for women also. This
means, the Agency GAD (Gender and Development) is existing.

In module 2, 3 and 4 was the most challenging part for me, because the
flashfloods interrupted my concentration but successfully answered it in one day and that is
last October 17, 2020. I started answering around 11:45pm last October 16, 2020 and was
able to finish it at 10pm on the next day.

My insight in module 2 is the emphasis of masculinity and femininity where

masculinity refers to masculine or men and femininity to famine or women. These two terms
have different roles in the community, lets start with masculinity, in power-intellectual
principle it is the power, it serves as the strength of whom superior order they follow and
femininity is the intellectual, it serves the brain whose belong to the superiors. Thus, it gives
me a conclusion that when it comes to the balance of the world, women is superior than
men since intellectual is higher than strength.

In module 3, it gives a clear emphasis on the new set of genders (but not
third gender) which is the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) “QIA” has been
added also that stands for Queer, Intersex, Asexual. I learned here the significance of
GENDER BLIND where it gives the full concept of an specific type of gender a human can
have. Intersex gender is the most controversial and I can say the most fragile since it has
genitalia that is opposite to its community role he/she believes. That’s why, its important for

us to know the proper naming for them. And as for me, there’s nothing wrong from being
part of this community for as long as you didn’t belittle and harm anybody you are free to
shine on your own since you are the one building your own future and you are the only
whose accountable to it.

Lastly in module 4, the longest topic I had ever encounter because it has 9
objectives so let’s start one by one. Number one, I was able to identify and differentiate the
male and female reproductive since this is just an elementary lesson. Number two, I was
able to understand the physiologic process of both reproductive organ since I have the
experience to identify it using the realia method. Number three, I was able to not only
define but understand the concept of fertilization, Concepcion and pregnancy since I all
experienced it. Number four, I was able to explain it but was not able to articulate it
because the knowledge I most preferably gained from the is the experience I have. Number
five, I was able to identify the complication of early pregnancy and the effects of it during
the adolescent stage since we already passed on the subject Child and Adolescent learning
and learner principle; number six, I was able to identify the important health habits a
teenager can develop since I am doing this to my kid; number seven, I was able to know
when and whom to seek help when problem occurs in the development of my child’s
growth; number eight, I was able to identify the risky behaviors a teenager can develop,
this is the most critical part since my kid is at second grader only and lastly I was able to
know how to avoid these risky behaviors because this would probably help me foe the
development of my kid. All thanks to these modules because it gives me the goosebumps of
being a mother of one and its proper care especially my kid is a boy.

The modules was able to help me not only grow as a soon to be teacher but
grow as a soon to be productive citizen and a responsible mother also.
