Why is it important to have autonomy in building our own inquiry question?

When building my own inquiry question, I find that I am more invested in the personal aspect of achieving my goal
than when I am given the question I am asked to work on.

It is important because I have the freedom to explore and pursue growth in the area of practice of my choice.

It gives us a chance to grow not only as teachers in our own personal way as well as growing with our students.

I think it allows us to take ownership of our work. If it’s something we truly care about and are interested in we
should work harder to achieve it.

Yes, as it allows me to target my grade level and the needs of my classroom this year.

Our questions reflect our own personal style beliefs and weaknesses as a teacher. It is deeply personal to create a
question that is meaningful to a teacher and it must be if that question is to drive your improvement. Being given a
question is shallow and loses all impact and meaning.

It makes us have more interest and investment in the question as it is more relevant to our personal situation.

Because we all have different needs in our classrooms

It's important because it allows teachers to tailor their learning needs to those needs of their classroom. This allows
them to focus on what they feel is important to improving the success of their students and gives them a choice to
focus on what they feel passionate about.

It is important to have autonomy in building our own inquiry question because we are all at different points, focuses,
and levels of experience. Being able to focus on a goal specific to our students needs and our own growth where we
are in our teaching practice provides invaluable opportunities to continuously widen our skill set where we feel
would best benefit our students.

It is important to have autonomy because you have to care about it in order to want to work on it. If your focus is
going into something that has been decided for you you may not have any desire to progress with it and it may not be
what your students need.

It is important because as individuals we all have specific areas we would like to improve on in our teaching practice.
This allows us to zone in on a specific practice/area/strategy that we feel is essential in building our capacity as
teachers. We feel empowered and driven through this process due to the freedom of choice.

So we are able to pick some that we are passionate about and really want or need to work on.

It allows you to focus on what you feel in needed in your own classroom and for the needs of your students that year.
Yes working together as a group on the same goal is beneficial and allows everyone to be on the same page to
improve their learning as a whole.

It allows us to take the time to reflect, and to really think about what is important for us to focus us. We are more
likely to hold ourselves accountable and push ourselves do learn more and do better.

It allows for a "buy in" in the inquiry journey. It is not being done to me.
