ﺇإِﻟَﻰ َﺣﺘﱠﻰ َﻋﻠَﻰ ﻋ َْﻦ ﻓِ ْﻲ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﻭو َﻝل ﻙك
َ َﺕت ﺏب

1. ﺏب
ِ : with
a. Example: ِ ﺑِﺴ ِْﻢ ﷲ (with/in the name of Allah)
2. َﺕت: I swear by
a. Example: ِ" ﺗَﺎ (I swear by Allah)
b. Note: this ﺣﺮﻑف ﺟﺮ is only used with the word Allah
3. ﻙك
َ : like
a. Example: َﻛ َﻮﻟَ ٍﺪ (like a boy)
4. ِﻝل: for
a. There are two options for this particular ﺣﺮﻑف ﺟﺮ: it can be either َﻝل or ﻝل
ِ
i. Whenever ﻝل is used with a pronoun, it will have a fatha َﻝل
1. Example: ُ ﻟَﻪﮫ (for him)
ii. When ﻝل is attached to any other ﺍاﺳﻢ, it will have a kasra ﻝل
ِ
1. Example: ِ ﻟِ َﺮﺳُﻮْ ِﻝل ﷲ (for the messenger of Allah)

Remember, these ’ﺣﺮﻑف ﺟﺮs beat up the word right after them. When they do this, we call them
َﺟﺎﺭر (Jaar) and the word getting beat up َﻣﺠْ ﺮُﻭوْ ﺭر (Majroor). The ﺣﺮﻑف ﺟﺮ and its victim together are
called َﺟﺎﺭر َﻣﺠْ ﺮُﻭوْ ﺭر (Jaar Majroor). Let’s look at a quick example:
