THE POST OPERATIVE HAIR WASH

Washing will help remove scabs and accelerate healing process. We will provide you a
shampoo and a lotion for the hair wash procedure.

You should start post-transplant hair washing process 3 days after hair transplant operation,
most precisely on________________________and follow the instructions once a day for 15 days.

If all scabs are removed after 15 days you do not have to use lotion anymore, feel free to use any
kind of shampoo for washing and you can start to rub in the shampoo gently with your fingertips.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please keep in mind that you will lose the transplanted hair within the first two months.

FIRST WEEK & SECOND WEEK

STEP 1 Applying Lotion
Emollient lotion enhances the regeneration of skin cells, moisturizes the skin and softens the scabs.

Donor Area & Recipient Area:

The lotion will be applied on both transplanted and donor areas. Gently cover both areas by tapping
gently with 7-8 drops of lotion. Wait for 1 hour and rinse out during hair wash. Make sure you apply
the lotion with the same direction of the transplanted grafts to avoid any damage. Note that you
may use more lotion for donor area.

STEP 2 Applying Shampoo

Donor Area & Recipient Area:

The special medical shampoo is used to remove the scabs and help the recovery process.
1 hour after having put the lotion , you may start the washing as described.
Using the provided medical shampoo, create foam between your hands and spread foam through
your donor and recipient area gently without rubbing or strong movements.
Leave the foam on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing. Note that you may use more lotion on the donor
area for itching, burning, dryness apart from the washing routine.

STEP 3 Rinsing
Don’t rinse your head with pressured hot water; use warm water. Slop some water on your head by
using a bowl (do not use the shower). It is important to rinse the shampoo well.

STEP 4 Drying
Do not use towels to dry your hair. You should use a hair dryer on a cool air mode and at a
moderate distance from your head.

THIRD & FOURTH WEEK

In case you still have some scabs, please put 12-15 drops of lotion on the transplanted area and leave it up to 2 hours.
Afterwards, wash it with the shampoo provided by us and make a gentle massage to get rid of the scabs.

1 Month after the operation you will have passed the risky stage; you can go back to your normal life and use towels as well.

 OPTIONAL RECOMMENDED MEDICATION

PRP FOR HAIR LOSS (It can be started 2 months after the operation.)
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy for hair loss is a three-step medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn,
processed, and then injected into the scalp. It is recommended to receive PRP therapy maximum 3-4 times a year.
PRP injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increas-
ing the thickness of the hair shaft.

MESOTHERAPY (It can be started 2 months after the operation.)

Mesotherapy for hair works by encouraging re-growth through better circulation and by
giving your scalp a vitamin boost.

Hormonal balance in your scalp is restored and DHT hormones, the ones responsible for
balding, are quietened down.

Usage:
1st month→ you should get one session done every week,
2nd month →every 15 days
And starting from the 3rd month→you should get one session done monthly.
10 sessions are sufficient for one year.

This schedule can be advised differently according to the Doctor’s personal experience.

LASER (Can be started after the operation.)

For hair loss treatment a low intensity laser device is applied. With this treatment, which is applied for 20 minutes
and twice a week, it first increases the hair thickness in applications that continue to stop hair loss. When a
certain improvement is achieved, the continuation of the improvement is obtained by decreasing the session to
once a week.

GROWTH FACTOR HAIR SERUM

GROWTH FACTOR HAIR SERUM helps reduce hair loss and triggers hair growth.
It helps small hair transform to healthy hair. It contains growth factors,
vitamins and essential botanical extracts to nourish and support developing
healthy follicles and hair. Recommended after hair transplantation.

You should start using it 18 days after the operation.

Use one bottle monthly. Massage lightly onto entire scalp (not hair) especially
in areas of hair loss concern. Apply each morning and night.

When you will have finished the first package( with 4 bottles for 4 months),
take a month break. Start again after the one month break and use it monthly
for 4 more months.

Take the painkiller only if it is
necessary, in case you feel pain

The antibiotic should be be taken
one in the morning after breakfast

The use of reinforcing products can be started 18 days after the operation.

Finasteride Vitamin Vitamin Spray Foam

Propecia is used to protect and
strengthen the existing hair.
It should be used once a day
for 1 year.
Propecia is the most effective treatment
for existing hair as it protects and
increases the quality of the hair.
All serious hair clinics worldwide
encourage the use of Propecia tablets.
Whoever is not willing to take the tablets
may use Propecia Gel 2 % for years.
Please note, tablet version is much more
effective than the gel version.
Vitamin capsule that helps hair
growth by nourishing hair follicles.
It should be used twice for 1 year.
First 6 months will be taken as
2 per day and the other 1 per day.
It can be applied to all hair, especially the
transplanted area. Do not rinse after use.
It should be kept in the head for a
minimum of 3 hours. The recommended
period is 18 months.
The methods of use are as follows.
1. 6 Months: 2 times a day
(3 sprays each morning and evening)
2. 6 Months: 1 time per day
(3 sprays per day)
3. 6 Months: Twice a week
(eg Monday 3 sprays, Thursday 3 sprays )

If the patient is using Propescia Gel as

well, he/she will use Minoxil in the
morning and Propescia Gel in the
evening.

 ISSUES TO BE CONSIDERED AFTER OPERATION
• The patient should be rested on the day of the operation and should not engage in activities that would
physically force him / her.
• Drink plenty of water and avoid excessive use of salt.
• Avoid any contact of the transplanted area with the pillow for at least one week.
• The headband should be kept on for 3 days in total.
• The use of pillows while sleeping is not recommended for 7 days. A towel, rolled under the neck can be placed or travel
cushions can be preferred. In this way, the transplanted area will be safe from direct contact with pillows or the bed.
• The patient should not drink alcohol for 5 days.
• The patient should not have sexual intercourse for 5 days.
• The patient should not be sweating for the first 10 days after the operation and should not be exposed to
moisture and steam.

BATH/SHOWER
• The patient can start washing with hot water 1 month after the operation.
• Turkish bath, sauna and hot jakuzi can be used after 2 months.
• The patient may start using towels 1 month after the operation.

HATS
• You can start wearing the hat provided by us right away after the first cleaning, whereas the other hats are
recommended to be used only after 10 days after the operation.
• The patient should not be exposed to direct sunlight for 2 months. If necessary hats should be worn.
• The hard hats can be used 1 month after the operation, such as the bicycle helmets can be used only after
1 month after the operation.
• Beanies, hoodies, bandanas can be worn only 1 month after the operation.

SPORTS
• Walking, jogging and aerobic exercises can be started 15 days after the operation.
• Bodybuilding can be started 20 days after the operation.
• Sports such as basketball, volleyball, football, tennis can be started one month after the operation.
• One month after the operation, you can swim in the sea and pool. You can start wearing swimming cap 2 months
after the operation.
• You can start skiing after 1 months.
• You can go diving after 2 months.

SHAVING/TRIMMING/HAIR DYE/TOPIC
• If you want to cut your hair, you can do that only one month after the operation using scissors or hair machine
(razors are not allowed for 6 months).
• You can trim the beard hair and back head hair which is used as a donor area 15 days after the operation.
Shaving the beard with razor is allowed only 1 month after the operation.
• You can dye your hair in the donor area 2 months after the operation, whereas the transplanted hair can be dyed
only 6 months after the operation.
• You can start using topic 6 months after the operation.

HAIR GROWTH AFTER OPERATION

• Post-operative swelling of the patient's head usually occurs within 4 to 5 days. It will go away on its own. To prevent
swelling of the face, a black band is worn. However, in cases where the swelling descends to the face, ice should be
applied to the swollen area.
• 4-5 days after the operation, the scabs will begin to shed with washing. Planted hair will begin to shed with the scabs
and this shedding will continue for about 2 months.
• Itching in the operation areas are signs of healing and hair growth and should not be scratched. Lotion can be used
when itching, burning or shrinking occurs in the donor area.
• In the third month of the operation, hair growth will begin to be observed.
• In the 6th month of the operation, the patient notices an obvious change.
• 100% growth of the implanted hair is completed after approximately 1 year for the frontal region and 1.5 years for
the top&crown region.
