Introduction
Social media refers to all applications and websites or blogs that enable
people around the globe to interconnect via internet chat and share content
among any other functionalities it offers to its users. We all know that
nowadays most of the teens really used social media sites always as it plays
very big role in their lives. Social media sites really give big impact and truly
influence the youth of this generation including us.
According to a new study from the Family Technology Education, non-
profit group, Common Sense Media, teens are spending more than one-third of
their days using different social media sites such as online video, or music
nearly nine hours on average. There’s a thousand of student in Pamantasan ng
Lungsod ng Marikina Senior High School Department and we all know that
majority of it are using social media. In this study we want to compare if there’s
a significant difference between male and female in terms of hours they
consume in using different social media sites and also to identify what are the
top applications they commonly used every day and of course to give them
suggestions or recommendations on how they will have a good time
management in using different social media sites. And at the end of this case
study, we researchers just want to remind them that in consuming hours in
using social media is always good in moderation.
The study concluded that there is no significant difference in number if
hours consume in using different social media sites between male and female
if we are talking about the 1-6hrs range of time while in 6hrs and above range
of time there is a significant difference and according to our survey male are
the usual person who spend a lot of time in using different social media sites.

1. What are the top application that make male and female consume a lot of time

using different social media sites?

2. What are the common range of hours consume by male and female in using different

social media sites?

3. Who among in male and female consume more time in using social media sites?

RESPONDENCE OF THE STUDY

The respondents were selected in Grade 11 Accountancy Business and

Management Strand of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina Senior High School

Department. Since it’s a Comparative Study we need 25 males and 25 females

respondents. So in 5 section in P.M shift, our respondents is 4 males and 4 females per

room which is total of 40 respondents that is selected randomly, since they are 5 sections

in P.M shift. The remaining 10 respondents is 5 males and also 5 females that is selected

randomly in A.M shift sections of the same strand.

RESEARCH LOCALE

We conducted our case study in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina

Senior High School Department San Roque Campus. Second Floor, starting to Room

201-205.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The researcher prepared questionnaire in the form of Likert scale based from the

given statement of the problem submitted to our case study teacher for checking and

validation of the given questions. After the case study teacher approved the questionnaire,

the researcher seek permission to the adviser to conduct a survey.

The researchers conducted a survey to 25 males and 25 females participants to

Accountancy Business Management Senior High School Student in Pamantasan ng

Lungsod ng Marikina, San Roque Campus. The researchers properly distributed the

questionnaires, and lastly, the researchers retrieved the questionnaires to tabulate, analyze

and interpret the data.
