THYROID CANCER

In general, the entire thyroid gland is removed, chemotherapy or radiation therapy is done, and after these treatments
the patient must take hormones for life.

The symptoms include:

Cough, difficulty to swallow, swelling in the neck, tumors.

Should eat a healthy diet, have a support group as it will be affected emotionally.

Shouldn`t drink alcoholic beverages or smoke. Can't stop treatment.

OSTEOSARCOMA CANCER

The treatment usually includes surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, amputation, or transplantation.

Includes swelling and localized pain in the bones

Should rest and adhere to treatment. Have a balanced diet, do not consume alcoholic beverages or smoke, eat fruits and
vegetables.

Shouldn`t strength work, do not do impact exercises.


MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

The treatment consists of administering immunosuppressant’s and physical therapy to slow down the rate at which
parts of the body atrophy

The symptoms include fatigue, visual disturbances, balance and coordination problems, stiffness.

Should use a cane or walker to stand up, use a wheelchair to move around long distances, doing exercises at home to
decrease pain. Take vitamin`s.

Shouldn`t wear smooth shoes or drink alcohol to avoid falls and to have good results with medications.

HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE

There is no cure for HD, the goal of treatment is to reduce symptoms and help the patient have the best possible quality
of life.

The symptoms before movement problems begin, the patient may present hallucinations, bad mood, psychosis,
paranoia, difficulty swallowing, decreased ability to speak, confusion, loss of memory, among others.

You should have psychological support and accompaniment from your family nucleus

Shouldn`t stay alone because sometimes suicidal behaviors can occur, stop the treatment prescribed by the doctor, fend
for yourself for what you need help from others.
DERMATOMYOSITIS

There is no cure, but treatment can improve the skin, as well as muscle strength and function.

Medications such as corticosteroids, antimalarial and physiotherapy are prescribed

Some symptoms are changes in the skin, muscular weakness, difficulty to swallow, others

Should be active most of the day and rest if you feel tired, sleep comfortably, and visit a rheumatologist.

Shouldn`t have a disorderly lifestyle, stop following the doctor's recommendations, become sedentary because it will
worsen your symptoms.
