TODAY’S TOPICS: Phrasal verbs and Tales vocabulary


FIRST TOPIC: PHRASAL VERBS
The phrasal verbs are compounding words that their meaning changes when we use them in context.
We normally create phrasal verbs using a “Verb” + a “Preposition”
Example:
Get out : The meaning of this phrasal verb is “salir” in Spanish.
As you see in Spanish, we do not have this kind of words, but in English is very common.
Get: Verb : The meaning in Spanish is “Obtener”
Out : preposition : The meaning in Spanish is “ fuera”
As you see the words separate have a different meaning than when we use them like a “phrasal verb”
More examples :
Pick up : Recoger
1. I am going to pick up my wife tonight.
2. My sister is cleaning up the house now
3. My sister is cleaning up the house
4. My brother cut off the line in the bank yesterday
5. Sandra has gone out for some groceries
6. My mother didn’t check in at the airport, so she missed the flight.
7. Robert will fill in the form the next week.
