Faith: Reflection

1. What is faith?

- Faith can be defined as complete trust or confidence in someone or something; it

can also be a strong belief in God and in the doctrines of a religion, based on a
spiritual level.

2. How do you nurture faith? Cite at least 5 ways you can nurture faith. Explain each.

- Trust: Though it seems simple, it can still be difficult to do. When we find that
things are beyond our control and events happen that make us feel hurt or defeated,
having trust that there is something better coming for us can increase our
spirituality and faith in God.

- Prayer: Through prayer we speak to God on a personal level. Doing this daily
allows God to become part of everyday lives and helps us feels empowered to take
on the day and the challenges to come.

- Reading the Bible: Through reading the scripture we understand the word of God
through His teachings, stories, and miracles. This can help us refocus and gain
wisdom, knowledge, and a deeper understanding of ourselves in our daily lives and
makes us feel closer to God through his instructions.

- Practicing God’s Word: “Practice what you preach”. Applying the Word of God in
our actions and how we treat others helps deepen our relationship with Him and
strengthen our faith.

- Being a Good Example: Along with practicing God’s Word we should strive to be
good moral examples for others to follow. Even if the people we see and meet do not
share the same faith as us, they can feel our kindness and love, which can inspire
them to do the same to the next person. By being kind, thankful, and forgiving we
practice His teachings and allows us to bring others closer to God.
