2002 (R.A. 9165)

• was enacted and passed by the Senate and House


of Representatives on May 30,2002
• it was signed into law by President Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo on January 23, 2002.

Dangerous Drugs Board


• the policy-making and strategy-formulating body in
the planning of formulation of policies and
programs on drug prevention and control

PDEA
• The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency was also
created under the Office of the President.
• It is the lead anti-drug law enforcement agency. It
is responsible for preventing, investigating, and
combating any dangerous drugs, controlled
precursors, and essential chemicals within the
Philippines
• It is headed by a Director General responsible for
the general administration and management of the
agency.
