Geolog® 7 – Paradigm™ 2011 Text Basics 1-1

With Epos® 4.1 Data Management
Overview
Text (usually referred to as "Text view") is Geolog’s table format tool for viewing, modifying and inserting
well data, copying and renaming sets and logs, and fixing log values.
To improve access and store different sampling rates, Geolog displays well data in the functional subgroup,
Sets. Each Set, in turn, contains logs with log data, and may also contain Constants and Comments, stored
in the Constants and Comments area of the database.

Starting Text View

Text document views are created or opened via the “New Tab” on page 1-15 or the File menu of the Well
or Project application.
See “Creating New” on page 1-13 or “Opening” on page 1-14 for further details.

Text Window
If a well(s) is open, on first opening a new Text view, only the Sets in the Set Filter pane are displayed. Data
must be selected for viewing. Once selected, it is displayed in table format.
The example in Fig. 1 shows how data is displayed after selecting a Set and then the Logs tab.

Selected set in Sets list Table Tabs - Logs tab is active (selected).

Reporting
A report can be created for all or part of the data in the currently open well.
Tables that are too wide for a page are wrapped by columns i.e. as many columns of data that will fit across
a page are printed, then the next group of columns, and so on until all columns have been printed. Header
columns and header rows are duplicated across sub-tables.
