the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity from January 18 to 24. This year, the
weeklong prayers will take its virtual edition due to the pandemic and the
rising cases in the community.
Daily prayers for Christian Unity will be hosted by the Silliman University
Divinity School, as part of its centenary celebration, through ZOOM and
Facebook Live via the page - Silliman University Divinity School Centennial
2021.
The strong driving force behind the said three-year practice of the
ecumenical community are the organizations such as: the Focolare
Movement, the Youth for a United World, Redemptorist
Youth/Redemptorist Parish, SU Divinity School Student Assembly,
seminarians from St. Joseph Seminary College and Kabatan-onang
Ekyumenikal sa Isla Negros ug Siquijor (KEINUS) – an ecumenical
formation comprised of the Youth of the IFI and Christian Youth
Fellowship from the nearby three conferences of the UCCP – Negros
District Conference, Central Negros Associate Conference and North
Negros Conference.
Themed “Abide in my love and you shall bear much fruit”, this year’s Week
of Prayer for Christian Unity reflects on the Gospel text from John Chapter
15 verses 5 to 9, as Jesus referred to himself as the vine meanwhile, the
followers of Christ, as the branches.

This year, the Silliman University Divinity School aside from providing the
technical support to the virtual prayers, the Week of Prayer for Christian
Unity has been made part of the build-up activities to the centennial
celebration of the Divinity School by August 2021.
