Question: How does the angle at which an object is launched affect the distance it will
travel before hitting the ground?

Claim - Write a statement that responds to the question.

The closer to 45 degrees the angle of the launching point is the farther the object will travel
before hitting the ground.

Evidence - Provide scientific data to support your claim. Your evidence should be appropriate
(relevant) and sufficient (enough to convince someone that your claim is correct). This can be
bullet points instead of sentences.

● Steeper launch angles (>90 deg) have a more vertical velocity while shallower angles
(<45 deg) don’t have enough velocity to travel far or high.

Reasoning - Use scientific principles and knowledge that you have about the topic to explain
why your evidence (data) supports your claim. In other words, explain how your data proves
your point. (paragraph format)

The evidence supports my claim because if 90 degrees or more is too steep of a point and
less than 45 degrees is too shallow than the optimal angle for launch. In mathematical terms,
The greatest distance of a projectile is sin(2*theta) if your input angle is 90 degrees then theta
would equal 45 degrees making it the best angle for launch.
