1 Purpose
Energy policy is elaborated as required by section 4.3, ISO Standard 50001 "The energy management." The
policy establishes the company's commitment to achieving energy performance improvement.

2 Scope of Validity
The policy is valid for the companies UNIPETROL, a. s.UNIPETROL RPA, s.r.o. including registered
branches, UNIPETROL DOPRAVA, s. r. o. and ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a. s.
The Policy replaces the Energy policy, Edition 1, valid from 15/03/2016.

3 Terms, Definitions and Abbreviations

DOPRAVA, s.r.o. and ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a.s.
EnMS - Energy management system according to standard ISO 50001

4 Energy policy
UNIPETROL is engaged in refinery and petrochemical production and sales within the Czech Republic and
Central Europe territory. Companies of the Group mainly produce and sell refinery products, chemical and
petrochemical products, polymers and specialty chemicals. The Group also operates its own transport
services and finances its own research and development. UNIPETROL is the leading refinery and
petrochemical company in the Czech Republic and an important organization in the Central and Eastern
Europe. The costs of production and procurement of energy form a substantial part of UNIPETROL budgets.
The Energy Policy is based on values held by the companies, i.e. Responsibility – Development – People
– Energy – Reliability. One of the main priorities of the management of the companies is to constantly
reduce the energy consumption and improve the efficiency of the utilization thereof. Therefore, the
companies implement, maintain and improve an Energy Management System (EnMS) under the ISO 50001
standard. The companies state that all requirements of this standard (including additional legal and other
requirements) are adhered to and the principle of ongoing improvements in the area of energy management
is being fulfilled. The companies are also determined to systematically reduce negative environmental
impacts of their activities.
Within the energy management system, the managements of the companies commit to:
- Meet the relevant legal and other requirements;
- Contribute to meeting the national goals in the area of greenhouse gases emissions and improving
the energy efficiency;
- Regularly review the energy efficiency performance and adopt relevant improvement measures;
- On an ongoing basis and in a systematic way, optimize the energy consumption and the associated
costs, reduce the energy consumption in the long-term;
- Use the energy efficiency as one of the key criteria within procurement processes;
- Ensure necessary resources for meeting the commitments of the ISO 50001 standard;
- Ensure availability of all information related to the energy management system to all employees,
educate them on the topics of energy savings, new technologies and their environmental impacts,
demand and motivate them to get involved in meeting the goals of the energy management system
implemented;
- Cooperate with academic and professional experts at meeting the goals of the implemented energy
management system.
The Energy Policy is binding for all employees of the companies.
