1.0 Purpose/Scope
These instructions are to be used to update the readout sequence of a Selenia Image Receptor.
They can be used with both the fastcom and flash array versions of the Floader software with the
Image Receptor.

2.0 Estimated Time

This Installation should take approximately 0.5 man-hours.

5.0 Procedure
5.1 Installing the Flash Array Windows Program
1. Insert CD into field service notebook computer.
2. Run setup.exe.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.
4. Reboot the computer if prompted to do so. This prompt will occur depending on the
OS and level of Microsoft patches on the machine.
5. If during the install process, you are prompted to replace any dll's that are newer, do
not do so!
6. If during the install you receive an error message that msvcrt.dll is in use, simply
ignore the error and continue the install. You will need to confirm this twice.
7. When the install is completed, the program should be under Start > Programs >
Windows Flash Array.

5.2 Starting the Floader Application on the Array (all versions):

1. Power off the system. Connect.
2. Power on the system. Allow the array to completely boot up (The array is fully booted
when walking messages appear). Ignore the scrolling text and type the following:
-> ServiceMode
This should stop the text from scrolling and shut down the high voltage.
3. Now type the following at the array command prompt:
-> jumpToFloader
4. If the following is seen on the array, the newer Floader program is present so skip to
section 6.4.

5.3 Uploading the Readout Sequence Using Fastcom

1. The scrolling text will stop in the HyperTerminal window after typing this command. If
you see scrolling text, the command was not successful. Try jumpToFloader again.
2. On the HyperTerminal window, select Call menu, then click on Disconnect.
3. Under File menu, select Properties option.
4. Click on Configure... button.
5. Select 57600 from the dropdown list, then click on the Ok button.
6. Click on the Ok button.
7. Press the Enter key. You will see the -> prompt.
8. Type at the prompt ProgramFileToFlash(2), then press Enter. You will see Send
Readout Sequence File Size message.
9. On the HyperTerminal window, select Call menu, then click on Disconnect.
10. On the laptop, open a Command Prompt window.
11. Change directory to cd \Array (directory where fastcom.exe and bin files reside.)
12. Type fastcom and hit Enter.
13. When asked for com port, type com1 (or whatever PC com port is connected to the
detector debug port) and hit Enter.
14. Type from the Select prompt 2 to Send File Size then press Enter.
15. Type xxxx.seq where xxxx is the name of the new readout sequence file and hit Enter.
16. Type from the Select prompt 3 to Send Binary File then press Enter.
17. Type xxxx.seq and hit Enter.
This operation will take approximately 3 minutes.
18. Once complete, type q to quit and hit Enter.
19. Proceed to Section 5.5.

5.4 Uploading the Readout Sequence Using Windows Flash Array

Caution: Field upgrades should NOT use the manufacturing subsection of the program.
Incorrect usage here may make the Array non-bootable. You CANNOT
reprogram Floader using Windows Flash Array PC software. Attempting to do
so may make the Array non-bootable. The advanced menu is not for field
upgrades! Incorrect usage here may make the Array non-bootable.
1. IMMEDATELY DISCONNECT THE HYPERTERMINAL SESSION WHILE TRYING NOT
TO TYPE IN THE TERMINAL by selecting Call > Disconnect from the HyperTerminal
menu.
2. Start the Flash Array Windows program from Start > Program > Windows Flash Array.
3. Press the Connect button.
4. Select the comm port that the Array is connected to (should be the same as the
hyperterminal was). Press OK to connect.
5. Verify communications by selecting the Read EL Info Button. If a "Query Retrieve
Failed!" error occurs, disconnect the Flash Array Program, reboot the Array, and retry
this process again. If you receive the message "EL Sensor is [Not] Present", then
communications is up between the Floader and Flash Array programs.
6. Select the Program Sequence button. Click OK on dialog box.
7. Select the Array readout sequence (xxxx.SEQ) file from the file dialog box.
8. Confirm your selection. Wait until it is completed. YOU MUST NOT INTERRUPT THE
REPROGRAMMING PROCESS!!!! IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, WAIT UNTIL THE
ARRAY HAS COMPLETED THE REPROGRAMMING CYCLE FIRST!
9. Click OK on dialog box.
10. When you are finished, close or disconnect the Flash Array program.

5.5 Check Update

1. On the Acquisition Station, type in the Terminal Window su then press Return.
2. Type in the Terminal Window reboot -- -r then press Return.
3. Login as apps.
4. Wait for the application to appear.
5. Select Info > About the Acquisition Station menu entry.
6. Confirm the following versions:
