2. Remove the accelerator cable and the speed


control cable from the bracket. Position the
cables away from the intake manifold.

5. Disconnect the knock sensor (KS) electrical


connector retainer.

3. Disconnect the accelerator cable and the speed


control cable routing clips. Disconnect the
vacuum hose.

Item 21: Intake Manifold Gaskets Removal Note
1. CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers,
wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other
abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces.
These tools can cause scratches and gouges
which can make leak paths.
Clean the sealing surfaces, inspect the gaskets
and install new gaskets if necessary.
