 DEPARTURE PRE-FLIGHT
 Ensure that you are up-to-date on the re-entry
requirements to China. Print out all relevant
documents regarding the new Resident Permit (RP)
entry requirements as the airport/airline staff may
not be aware of the new changes regarding valid RP’s
entry.
1. Valid Resident Permits for Work, Personal and
Family Reunion Matters-Book flight, able to
enter without any other needed item
2. Expired Resident Permit (expired after March
28th) and valid work permit-contact
Embassy/Consulate office to apply for new visa
and find out what “relevant materials” are
needed, NO PU Letter is needed but will need:
visa application, copy of RP, copy of passport
data page, copy of work permit (some offices
may require physical copy of work permit),
invitation letter and proof of relationship if RP
is family/personal matters related
 Ensure that you have a current visa for those who do
not meet the above requirements.
 Ensure that the flight you are booking is a current,
approved flight
 DEPARTURE PRE-FLIGHT
 People from most countries will be required to be tested for
the COVID virus (RT-PCR Test) prior to boarding one’s flight to
China. For each countries’ requirements please check here OR

 The Test Results’ Date will need to be within 3 Days (72
Hours) of boarding one’s flight. This timeframe is in reference
for the flight to China.

1. Take test
2. Upon receipt of test-make sure the test results have
the following details: test result date, name, DOB, sex,
name and location of test lab.
3. COVID Testing Results will need to be presented to the
Chinese Embassy/Consulate Office of your governing
country for verification.
4. Receive Stamped Health Form back from the
Embassy/Consulate Office.
 DEPARTURE PRE-FLIGHT

Chinese citizens:
 Take a test at least 3 days prior to flight. The COVID
test result issue date needs to be within 72hrs boarding
time for flight.
 Within 24hrs of receiving the PCR test, upload the

 At boarding, you are required to present a Green

 DEPARTURE CHECK-IN
Documents to print to have on hand for
checking in for one’s flight:
• Flight Itinerary
• If required-stamped health form (1 for
each leg of the trip)
• COVID Negative Test Results (1 for each
leg of the trip)
• Copy of Passport Data Page; Copy of
China Visa (if relevant)
• If transiting thru a third country the
following documents may be needed: PU
Letter, Employer Contract, Copy of work
permit
• Copy of Birth Certificate for children
• Copy of Marriage Certificate

Complete the Custom’s Pocket APP

approximately 2-3 hours before
boarding your flight to China.
Upon completion, a QR Code will
appear (see picture to the right).
TAKE a screen shot of the QR Code.
The code is good for 24 hours. IF
the code expires prior to arrival into
China-DO NOT PANIC, the airport
staff will assist you in getting an What the end screen
updated QR code. will look like when
done correctly.
DEPARTURE IN-FLIGHT

 All flights require the wearing the minimum of a mask and/or

face covering. Please check individual airlines’ for their specific
requirements as some do NOT allow for N95 masks.
 Other suggestable PPE items to bring: face shield, disposable
gloves, hand sanitizer, and Lysol wipes.
 Most Airlines are currently not providing meal or beverage
services therefore it is recommended to pack food for the flight
and to sustain oneself while waiting to be delivered to
quarantine hotel. Many airlines are providing snack bags that
contain waters, crackers, cookies, and fruit.
 Just prior to landing and/or at landing, staff will bring you a
health form to complete, staff will assist you in completing.

 Sign the yellow custom’s arrival slip-as per usual arrival
process
• Provide a clear Chinese address and phone number; if not,
use your company contact
 De-planning is completed in groups, approximately 45 minutes
in total
 ARRIVAL XIAMEN AIRPORT

1. You will need the following information for

multiple documents/APPs, you may want to have it
written down in order to facilitate completing them:
Name, DOB, Passport Number, 2nd Contact name
and number, Home address, Flight Number and
Flight seat-DO NOT throw out your boarding
pass/stub.
2. While waiting to deplane, pull up the screenshot
of QR Code from the Custom’s Pocket APP. If the QR
Code has expired-do not panic, the airport staff will
assist you in obtaining an updated code. It will ask
for address-there are three options-Xiamen
address; hotel address; in transit. UNLESS YOU
LIVE in Xiamen, ENTER in TRANSIT.
3. Scan the QR Code and enter your information. If
you have the most updated version of Wechat, you
will be able to translate the APP, if not-airport staff
inside will assist you in completing. You will need to
keep your boarding pass.

4. Just prior to landing and/or at
landing, staff will bring you a health
form to complete, staff will assist you
in completing. On some flights, flight
stewardesses provided a blank copy
which had the sections translated.
5. Sign the yellow custom’s arrival

6. De-planning is completed in groups,
approximately 45 minutes in total.
Some flights reported that the
foreigners were taken off the plane
first, regardless of their seats or where
they were located on the flight.

7. Upon de-planning, you will exit out the door of

the plane then shortly thereafter, you will turn left
and take steps down to the tarmac where you will
be loaded on to a bus.
8. The bus will travel approximately 10-15 minutes
and drop you off at the airport entrance.
9. Follow the signs/arrows on the floor to begin the
arrival process.
10. You will enter the intake line where you will
present the Health Form (the one provided by the
airline upon landing) and show them your Customs’
Arrival QR Code. If expired you will be sent to
another desk where airport staff will assist in
updating your QR code. At this point, you will be
asked if you have any of the symptoms of COVID or
have had COVID in the past.
11. You will then be passed through to the testing
area. To enter testing, you need to scan your arrival
code.
 TESTING XIAMEN AIRPORT

12. In the testing area, you will pick up two

test tubes labeled with your name. You will
then get in line to enter a testing room.

13. You will need to submit to a nose and

throat swab.

As of 2020/10/03-Passengers have reported

that blood is also being drawn at this point.

14. You will then pass thru to Customs. Provide the

Customs’ agent your arrival card.

15. After passing thru customs’ follow the sign for

baggage claim. There are free luggage carts.
To the left of the luggage claim, there are toilets.
Xiamen Arrival
16. Exit the luggage area towards the bus for the Registration if
hotel distribution center. You will need to show the done correctly
airport staff your QR Code from the Xiamen Mini-
Program. This mini-program allows all family
members to be entered together. There is a
question in which it will inquire if you have
companions whom you are traveling with, check yes
and enter their information into the APP.
Companions should be family members and/or
people wanting to quarantine together in the same
room ONLY as this will be needed for entering and
exiting quarantine.

17. Take bus to the hotel distribution center.

Upon arrival, there are luggage carts to the
right of the building.
18. You will line up to enter the building. You
will need to show the distribution center your
Xiamen APP arrival code.
19. Line up for the intake table. The intake
table will have you enter one of the numbered
rooms for your hotel assignment. It is
unknown for certain, but it appears that all
people flying into Xiamen whose final
destination is NOT Xiamen will be asked to go
to room 3. Once that room has been reached
the assigned hotel’s capacity then you are
lined up to be brought to that hotel. You do
NOT get to choose which hotel that you are
assigned. The hotels are on a rotating basis.
QUARANTINE HOTEL XIAMEN, CHINA
 You cannot choose which hotel to quarantine in. They are
assigned based on availability.
 These hotels are regular 3-4star hotels, closed for the purpose
of quarantine only.
 Room rates from 200-500rmb per night, most hotels have
breakfast provided, with the option to have all 3 meals
provided.
 Payment either at check-in or check out. Methods of payment
accepted: wechat/Alipay, RMB cash and Union Pay. Foreign
credit cards not always accepted. ***A deposit is normally
required at check-in.***
 Delivery: Each hotel has its own delivery rules, some allow
food delivery, online shopping for daily necessities, and
personal packages from family and friends.
 Hotel staff will hand you an instruction sheet upon check-in on
what is allowed.
 Hotel wifi can sometimes be patchy.
QUARANTINE TESTING XIAMEN
 Passengers flying into Xiamen will be given a nose/throat swab
upon arrival. It has been reported that children will be only given a
throat swab. It also has recently been reported that blood is
drawn.
 The remaining testing are as follows:
• Daily Temperature checks twice
• Blood drawn on the 2nd Day-to test for COVID antibodies
• Nose and Throat Swab on the 7th Day
• Nose swab and blood test on the 13th Day
 If you test positive for antibodies or COVID, you will be transported
to the hospital for further testing. Further testing includes:
additional nasal/ throat swabs; chest x-ray; blood test.
 You will be notified if a passenger on your flight who has been in
close proximity to you (row in front, behind and beside); if this is
the case, a nose and throat swab will be performed.
 There is an Xiamen APP that provides you access to your test
results.

 FINISHING QUARANTINE XIAMEN
 Pending no issues, you will be released 14 days from arrival.
 You will need to notify your hotel within 3 days prior to
departure for them to arrange for transportation to the
airport/train station.
 Upon hotel check out checklist
• You will/ should get a quarantine release certificate to be
kept a copy for you to use for your community/ school, etc
. You need to sign them. Important doc to have with you.
• The hotel will need to scan the app you use on the 1st day
of registration to clear and close your case at check out.
• Request a Fapiao the day before check out (official China
receipt ) if your company requires that for claim purposes;
if you need itemized billing, you can request at check out
• If applicable, provide the hotel with your employer’s
invoice information for billing purposes, best if prior to 24 You will need again
hours to check-out. upon check out
 TEST POSITIVE
FOR ANTIBODIES XIAMEN
On the 2nd and 13th day of quarantine (possibly at upon arrival in
Xiamen) your blood will be drawn to be tested for antibodies.
 If positive the following will occur:
1. You will be transported to the local Fever Clinic for further
testing. You will be transported by ambulance-the sirens may or
may not be activated.
2. Upon arriving to the hospital-they will complete a chest x-ray,
nose/throat swab and draw blood.
3. You will need to provide a 500rmb deposit which is to pay for the
testing and room; any remaining balance will be credited back to
you upon discharge; they take cash/wechat/Alipay and Unionpay
4. You will have a minimum of an overnight stay as they will need to
complete 2 nose/throat tests to ensure that you are NOT actively
carrying the virus.
5. You will be able to order breakfast/lunch/dinner (15/25/25); food
was of poor quality
6. You will have an additional nose/throat swab in the morning
7. Upon the receipt of 2 nose/throat swabs you will be discharged.
8. You will be transported back to the hotel via a shuttle bus
