Sub:- ERTW, TSBIE - Prescription of new syllabus and text books of certain
subjects of Intermediate First year and Second year with effect from the
academic year 2020-21 - Change of Nomenclature of ‘Civics’ Subject as
‘Political Science’ — Information — Reg.
‘This is to inform that the syllabus of the following Second Language text book of
First Year Intermediate has revised w.e.f. the academic year 2020-21
‘Telugu (Second Language) ~ Part-II
The syllabii of the following Humanities Text Books of 2» Year Intermediate
have revised w.e.f. the academic year 2020-21
1. Commerce& Accountancy - Part-II
2. Economics - Part-IIl
3. History, - — Part-IIL
4, Political Science (Civics) - Part-II
5. Geography - Part-II
6. Public Administration - Part-IIL
‘The Subject of ‘Civics’ is not offered at the +2 Level in the CBSE & ICSE. It
does not even find its place in other State Educational Boards of India at +2 Level.
Further Universities like Delhi University is not considering the Subject ‘Civics’ as
‘Political Science’ and denied admissions for Under graduate courses like BA
(Honours) Political Science. Hence the TSBIE has changed the name of the ‘Civics’
subject as Political Science’
‘The new textbooks are prescribed and prepared by the Telangana State Board
of Intermediate Education and published by Telugu Akademi, Hyderabad. The
Principals, Lecturers and students are requested to follow the same. These books are
available in the market.
It is also informed that the revised syllabii and model question papers of the
above subjects are printed in the new textbooks, which will come into effect from the
academic year 2020-21 and also available in due course in the official website of
TSBIE, ic. www.tsbie.cgg.gov.in However, the failed candidates are permitted to
appear in these subjects with old syllabii textbooks in the ensuing Intermediate Public
Examinations, March, 2021 and Advanced Supplementary Intermediate Public
Examinations, May/June 2021 as a last chance.All the Principals are requested to give wide publicity to the same among the
students and Junior Lecturers and display a copy of this letter in the college notice
board.
