THE EVOLUTION OF WED DESIGN.

Styles of Web Design have been changing really fast since 1991. Modern wed designs
are absolutely amazing and attract your attention a lot, but the first website was
boring and contained only text with hyperlinks explaining what the wed was, why it is
useful, and basic set of instructions. From then to now, wed design has taken a long
and great way of evolution.

THE FIRST WEB PAGE.

That is unbelievable,
but the first website
was launched nearly 30
years ago! Web design
has taken a long and
winding journey since it
was published by Tim
Berners-Lee in 1991.

WORLD WIDE WEB CONSORTIUM IS FORMED

World Wide Web Consortium was
established in 1994 and HTML was set by
them as the standard for marking up web
pages. The WWWC continues to set standards
for programming languages (JavaScript, for
example) and for open web marking. But in
1995 progress has really begun. Then
JavaScript was created to allow the page to be
more dynamic and fascinating.

FLASH-BASED WEB DESIGNS

In 1996 developers created Flash. Flash was a software platform that gave designers an
opportunity to use CSS (cascading style sheets), incorporate video, music and animation
into websites and etc. Designers also were given more freedom to make websites
interactive.
But unfortunately Flash could be used only from computer and rather only with Internet
Explorer 5 (the first browser to fully support CSS), but in 2007 the first phone was
developed.
It was clear that it was necessary to create sites that could automatically adjust to the
screen of different devices. So thanks to Ethan Marcotte appeared the term "Responsive
Web Design".

WHAT FOR NOW?

Nowadays smartphones are the most
popular way to browse the Internet.
One interesting fact: 34% of us use our
smartphones within 5 minutes of waking
up!

THE FUTURE?
Who knows. The history of Web is quite short, but it has gone through a lot in that period
of time. And I just believe we are at a point where web design is not limited by
technology. Nowadays, we can do almost everything we might want to do on the
Internet.
