Keep in mind just two points:

• Express your feelings.
• Try to persuade.

Going wild in a jungle

When you feel that something extraordinary comes out of you-ordinary person, you never
believe yourself. It’s nothing but your adventurous spirit within you makes fly over
questions and doubts to land on the platform of adventure. I was not spared by these
glorious feelings. Even now, I feel goose bumps all around and I am excited to recollect
all the past pleasant memories savored amidst the thick jungle where the sun light
literally tussles with grove of tall trees for its survival.

Our lifetime lesson outside the classroom in which our close friends, truck drivers,
friendly teachers, simple tribal people, confident trainers, creepy reptiles, hasty animals,
noisy birds and insects are our mentors, is unforgettable. Our onboard in one bus, piled
with different ideas and outlooks, tastes and interests from different walks of life, brought
us together to play a beautiful melody. Realization of unity in diversity was felt heart
deep among classmates through rubbing shoulders in a small tent eating together,
walking together and living together. Have you ever felt being like a carefree child
running a hammock under the sun to brown skin? Oh, I did it! I did it!

The grandeur of countryside, scenic beauty captured my reason to get drowned in

emotion, when I was challenged to scale a rock like gray color lizard and catfish.
What a motion filled with awe and wonder! You look up the rock and look at your
friends’ fearless faces painted with a slogan, “see you on top”; you have now no excuses
to pacify your helping hands to hold your confidence and help you go up, when you tend
to slip. I said to myself, “Could my teachers be so kind?” Their loving kindness made me
forget my limitations to enjoy the depth of unexplained beauty of a waterfall. It’s beyond
measure to understand the beauty of the pastoral setting and God’s hand upon the
creatures around and the waterfall as well.

It’s easy to play hide and seek in the well lit house or Tarzan, throwing oneself in the soft
bed. But walking through sticky leeches, hissing snakes, chattering monkeys and noisy
parrots makes you become interdependent and urges you to form a human train in the
jungle to make a way out to see the clear sky and sprinkle some cool water on your
panicked faces. But you know that you defeated your meaningless fear; you were with
jungle creatures; you were doubtful of their movement and they just did mind their
business. Their friendly nature has created a space for us to love them more and think
from their point of view to tell the man one thing, “Hey man, why do you cut trees and
plants and disturb the creatures living inside?”

“Even God the Almighty rested on the seventh day, when He completed his work of
creating everything,” says the Bible. What a whale of time, I had, when we all came back
to the tent and gave rest to our body, mind and soul. All my know-it-all attitude, hot
headedness, and short temper were gone with the wind. I felt light at heart and something
like a heavy stone was removed from my heart. Oh, what a joy! What a peace of mind! It
is a whole lot of learning to feel equal and one among the students. I am really blessed.

It was a grand finale to our holiday mood, when we were taken to the river to experience
canoeing. You are not all alone but shrouded by experienced hands to guide you through
the gliding waters to enjoy the splash of the water. If you want to feel the speed of the
water, you should have been with us spinning round, floating up and down, and surging
with foamy waves to see you on top. Everything counts, when you want to be at the
height of joy and happiness. Self help is the best help. I realized this statement in the
journey to the silver rapids.

It was time to bid farewell to our jungle journey to get on with our mundane task
scheduled to execute from Monday to Friday. However, I cherish in my heart the million
worth learning learnt by going wild in a complete jungle.
