OBJECTIVE: To familiarize the student with the elements of making a nose
rib by and forming.

EQUIPMENT: Hand forming blocks, hand forming hammer, hole saw,

seamer, goggles, hearing protection, sheet metal shear, 2024
O aluminum: .appropriate thickness,.

PROCEDURE:
 Read A.C. 43.13-1B, Change 1, Chapter 4.
 Review the Avotek Aircraft Structural Maintenance, Revised
Edition, Chapter 6, Airframe Structures.
 Secure a piece of 2024-O 6½x8¼” and trim to rough shape to
construct the rib noted below. (25 points each)

 Prepare the holes and cutouts as shown in the drawing above,
bend the flange for the spar attach, and secure to the form
blocks.(25 points)
