Knowing how the body maintains its internal environment.

What also matters

is you should also be able to discuss the homeostatic mechanisms of the body.
I will require you to explain thoroughly your answers in not less than 5
sentences, on the following questions:
Answer:
Homeostasis is a process that allows us to maintain our internal
environment despite dealing with an external environment that is constantly
changing. Fortunately our bodies have mechanisms to counteract these
changes and bring us back to those normal conditions where our bodies
function best. Example of homeostasis that occurs in the human body is the
body temperature. Humans maintain a constant temperature of about 98.5
degrees Fahrenheit. If it is hot outside we sweat and if we get cold we shiver.
Our body temperature is controlled by the hypothalamus in the brain. If the
hypothalamus detects that the body is too hot, the response is that the body
begins to sweat to try and reduce the temperature back to the correct level.
That is how hypothalamus of the brain receives negative feedback from the
body to makes adjustments in order to keep this temperature of 98.5 .
Homeostasis is important since it controls the body temperature and water
levels in the body. It helps in steady stage during the adverse conditions.
