JOB: Software Engineer


JOB ROLE: Coder and Tester for the software applications
JOB DUTIES:

 Developing high quality and high-performance software applications


 Monitoring the changed code to see if it affected the performance of any related application
 Creating software features which work on multiple devices
 Reviewing and optimising code for quality check

OBJECTIVES:
Dell wants to increase the profit for the software department by developing high quality and high-
performance software applications, cutting down on expenditure by 7%, increasing the sales over 3 months
by signing in 5 potential clients, improving CRM and promoting business through referrals, networking and
social platforms ,by creating measurable impact for every employee, customer and product through
technology within the end of first quarter of fiscal year

 Return on assets for the software department


 Increase in Profit margin of software applications by what percentage
 Customer satisfaction rate for the software provided by company
 Rating of the software by the clients, customers and other stakeholders
 Automated testing of software products monthly
 Resolving Bugs and Issues faced by customers while installation of software
OUTCOME:
If profit of the software department is increased, the company will obtain greater revenue streams and
can improve pay and benefits given to the employees and also open the doors for new growth
opportunities. Company can also expand the software division by recruiting technical expertise in
software domain.
2. Dell wants to improve employee retention rate for software engineers by 10 % within 120 days
by using blend of mentor-training, team engagement activities, weekly feedbacks, scheduling one- one
meetings to know attractive dimension employee is looking for, incorporating fun activities, and
encouraging individuality and creative freedom in software department.

If the employee retention for the software department is improved, Dell will be able to reduce the
expenses and also has a positive impact on the organization's morale. Good Employee
retention practices help support an organization's productivity. Dell will be symbol of great employer
and will obtain good ratings on Glassdoor, comparably etc. It will also retain positive and stable
workforce by attracting quality pool of candidates.
3. Dell wants to increase the traffic for software applications and drive sales by 5 % by using
blend of creative social media promotions, high performing website tracker and increasing the page-
views, average visit duration, bounce rate by 10 % and also offering comprehensive set of information
on software applications by researching on the market trends in technology domain within the end of
first.

OUTCOME:
If traffic for software applications is increased along with the quality of the visitors, company will be
able to increase conversion rate by converting visitors into paying customers. This will help to expand
the product lines, setup at new locations, hire more employees, invest in R&D for more amazing
services and products.
4. I want to develop a creative approach for developing software applications within 1 year, by
using current technological trends, improving my technical skills by 50 %, collaborating with experts
who can test the landing page and overall functioning of the app which will make the application user
friendly

 Does my app show any breakdown error?
 How much user friendly (time to load the page on applications, answering queries through
chatbots etc.) is the app developed by me
 How efficiently I track the Customer journey on app

OUTCOME: If creative approach to develop software applications is used, time and money can be
saved for the organization and this can be used to develop creative products which can help the
organization in achieving future goals. This will enhance the software design, optimise the
organizational structure and increase the productivity of the organization.
5. I want to handle multiple projects and act as an important part of team within 1 year, by
gaining expertise in multiple programming languages, improving my efficiency by 30 %,
collaborating with every team member to know what is status of each project and organizing
brainstorming sessions with team to optimize the way currently team is working.

OUTCOME:
If I can handle multiple projects at the same time, it can increase my adaptability to work under
pressure but at the same time I need to be sure of not compromising on quality of any project due to
lack of time. Moreover, I should not miss on important deadlines of project else the I along with my
team- members have to be answerable to the departmental head.
