SURVEY OF PHILIPPINE LITERATURE IN ENGLISH

To provide professional, scientific, technological, technical and vocational instruction and training in trade, business, arts, sciences and technology and other
areas of education in order to meet the manpower needs of business and industries in the region in the Philippines.

Course Description The course enables students to analyze the growth and development of Philippine Literature in English
from 1900 to the present along socio-historical events as shown in representative works.

Course Objectives At the end of the semester, the students must have:
1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of time periods and growth and development in Philippine
literature.
2. Interpret literary works in the context of socio-historical events.
3. Read and write creatively and critically in the understanding of representative literary works.
4. Use technology in designing integrated lessons and instructional materials that are culturally relevant
and developmentally appropriate using Philippine literary works in English.
